Anti-chihuahua jokes are so fucking old
People get mad at generalizing pit bulls but still don’t see the irony of doing the same for chihuahuas.
Funny how loving a lot of the chihuahuas I picked up in animal control were, even that last one who was ready to bite when we first caught him calmed down with some patience. 
Chihuahuas get a bad rap because the breed is often defensive; they’re tiny, feel vulnerable and are fragile compared to larger dogs. Many are under socialized and this is more at the fault of the owner than the dogs themselves, yet the dog gets the blame.
It often takes time for strangers to win their trust, but when you do it feels amazing!
Chihuahuas are good little aliens that must be protected
Chihuahuas are also one of the most surrendered breeds right after pitties. If you’re ever looking for a small dog at a shelter take a second to meet some of the chis!
You may be lucky and find your very own Mabel
A lot of people tell me Mabel is the only chihuahua they’ve ever liked but while I worked at the shelter I met so many wonderful chihuahuas with warm, cuddly, goofy personalities. There of course were always little angry demon balls too but that was by no means most of them.
Anyway that’s my chihuahua appreciation thread for the night. 
One more thing, if you’re a cat person but want a dog, chihuahuas are basically cats.
