AMAZING GUNS AND MISSILES IN DHANURVEDA
When we see some old Mythological serials like Ramayana & Mahabharata we usually see that some persons are handling bow & arrow but do you think that are bow & arrow yes it is.

Do you ever think this can be some other things are let’s debunk it
How do they show bow and arrow of ancient times in serials? Rama or Lakshman always carrying a big bow [dhanu, धनुस् ] and having a box on the shoulder with many arrows [bâṇa, बाण].
@MaantuH @meenakshisharan
The box can contain, maybe, 50 arrows. After that? Yes, of course they used bow and arrow for thousands of years. We also hear about “astras” [अस्त्र, like ब्रह्मास्त्र etc, ] and so on. And we see in serials:

Taking an arrow in hand, the shooter will touch it to his head, repeat some mantra, and shoot it. And then, you see fire, etc. So far so good. The other man will be waiting till the astra comes. There is a possibility that astra can be called using some sound system .

However, have we thought for a moment that the arrow itself can be a pipe? Have we thought that from inside the arrow, something could be shot? Like a gun perhaps? Yes.
Yes, the gun was invented recently.

But no, it was there in the Dhanurveda, of Rishi Vashishta, thousands of years ago.
As you know, there are the four Vedas. Then there are upa-vedas. These secondary Vedas are about health, warfare, etc. Dhanurveda is about warfare or archery.

According to Rishi Vashishta, there are three types of arrows. One, made of wood with or without metallic tips, tira. poison darts, etc. Two, metallic arrows called nârâcha. The third is the gun called Nâlikâ. Nâlikâ means a pipe.

Finally, Rishi Vashishta writes in Dhanurveda that there was something called शतघ्नं [shata means 100s, ghna means to kill]. Missiles.
सर्व लोहास्तु ये बाणा नाराचास्ते प्रकीर्तिताः
पंचभिः पृथुलैः पक्षैः युक्ताः सिद्द्यन्ति कस्यचित।७३।

Arrows made of metals are called nârâcha. Five big pakṣas are attached to it. It is used by experts.

नालीका लघवो बाणा नलयन्त्रेण नोदिताः
अत्युच्च-दूर-पातेषु दुर्गं-युद्धेषु ते मताः ।७४।
Nâlikâ are pipe arrows. They are light arrows shot through pipes.

These are shot from very high places or very distant places and used specially during fort siege etc.
सिंहासनस्य रक्षार्थं शतघ्नं स्थापयेत् गढे।
रंजकं-बहुलं तत्र स्थाप्यं वटयो धीमता।७५ ।

To protect the throne, they use Śhataghni [killer of hundreds at a time]. Ghna [घ्नं] means to kill, shata means 100s. Such missiles are used with ranjaka [रंजकं-बहुलं] and experts say huge quantities should be stored.
