1. The Cathedral of St. John the Divine is named after the Revelation by John of Patmos. Although the church is still incomplete it is one of the largest churches in the world.
Here is the view of the main entrance.

It looks nice from afar... but lets take a closer look.
2. The church was built on the Upper West Side on the site of Bloomingdale Insane Asylum and Leake & Watts orphanage.

The church was funded in part by contributions from John Jacob Astor IV, Levi Morton, & Cornelius Vanderbilt. The church deans including Dewolfe and Pike.
3. As we take a closer look we see 12 very unusual columns flanking the main entrance.

The first Column shows two hands holding a medallion with what looks like a lamb carrying a flag.
4. The second column is much creepier featuring a child being birthed from a pod.

We can see two hands peeling open the pod while beneath the leaves appear to be smaller pods in the process of growing.

There is also a lamb/ram with its feet bound and a big spiral.
5. The third column is a little less clear. I see a person suffering in an odd contortion, but I can’t figure this one out.
6. The fourth column depicts the Tree of Life.

There is also some Hebrew writing on the bottom of the column and a narrative depicted between the chains.

If you look closely the tree of life has a Star of David on the center orb.
7. The fifth column shows four horses emerging from a pillar of fire. Perhaps the four horsemen?
8. The sixth column shows blindfolded people surrounding the Capital with what looks like large nuclear missiles surrounding it.

This looks to depict the collapse of America and Washington DC?

What do you all make of the character in the center?
9. The seventh column shows some warriors on the lower portion while the upper portion looks to represent temple worshipers at an alter. Perhaps a sacrificial alter?
10. The 8th column shows a flood with cars & bus being swept away as the Brooklyn Bridge collapses. The lower portion features a piano player, what looks like a woman being sold, the NYSE, as well as bugs & snakes amidst skeletons. The statue of liberty (Apollo) can also be seen.
11. The ninth column looks to me like nukes exploding over World Trade Center & NYC. (Some say this is a flood but note the river at the base of the buildings.)

Beneath the destruction of the City is the Church. (Yikes) What’s between the church and the City? I cant quite see.
12. The tenth column features bones and skulls above a band with eyes on it.

Beneath the band looks like angels of death? I see what looks like a bull, eagle, and man with wings. Beneath that is human figure being touched amidst flames.
13. The eleventh column features a wailing woman, a turbaned man, and jug spilling liquid.

I'm not sure what to make of it, but the other columns all look really bad so I'm assuming this is also horrible.
14. The 12th column looks like a hind inside of an ear. I have no idea what to make of this… Any guesses?
15. Outside the Cathedral the unpleasantness continues. Jesus Christ has literally been cast out of the church and is huddled on a bench with gaping wounds on his feet.

Could there be a message here?

Christ has been kicked out of the church?
16. The person who created the homeless savior is named Timothy Schmalz (you can find him in photo ops with the pope)… I wonder what kind of name Schmalz is? Lets find out…
17. Also of note is this sculpture the “Peace Fountain” by Greg Wyatt. The giraffes symbolize peace.

To me it looks like he is strangling peace. Look at the tension in the forearm. You can make your own determination.

18. 📺Video includes construction photos & quotes from masonic publications & masons; claiming it is a mason temple. Look back at the Church Deans, Dewolfe & Pike stand out.
(Theres no talking just text, so you don’t need to listen to the intense music.)
19. The altar at St. John's the Divine's Cathedral was created by Keith Herring (a talented urban minimalist, but not an appropriate fit for a church)
This article from 2013 (we clearly have no real press) has a few additional photos and some good insights on the meanings of the columns as well as some masonic connections to the church.

I have been informed that the writing on the Tree of Life column is "the Shema" or "Shema Yisrael" - a centerpiece of the morning and evening )ewish prayer services.

Looking into the Maternal genealogy of Bishop Horatio Potter, founder of St. John's Cathedral, we find almost the entire family is from Newport R.I. (Newport was the major slave trading center of the region.)
Prior to moving to Newport many these folks were English Aristocrats.
