AQUARIUS SEASON APPRECIATION THREADIt’s Aquarius season (+ New Moon 24/01), so it’s the perfect time to set intentions. Here are all the things Aquarius season is here to teach us and what we can do to make the most out of it!
Aquarius is a zodiac sign co-ruled by Saturn (traditional ruler) and Uranus (modern ruler). Saturn has to do with tradition, time, father/authority figures, restrictions, rules/boundaries/discipline and being realistic.
Uranus on the other hand is revolutionary ideas, the sudden/unpredictable, the unexpected, rebellion, the outcast/rejected and basically breaking the tradition for societal progress.
So why is Aquarius ruled by two contradictory planets? As Sue Tompkins explains: “Most things Uranian eventually become Saturnian: whatever shocks society today usually becomes accepted, institutionalized and taken for granted tomorrow.”
Aquarians are visionaries. As a universal sign, they often have futuristic ideas that serve their community or the society in general. Above all, Aquarians are humanitarians. Aquarius season teaches us to be open to possibilities and not limit our minds to our present situation.
Aquarius is about accepting the differences. As they’re often labeled the ‘outcast’ and the ‘weirdos’ of the zodiac, they’re open minded and as air signs, curious about the different types of people. During this time you can work on being more inclusive with the people around you
Uniqueness is power, it’s what makes you stick out. Whatever that makes you feel different from others, Aquarius season reminds you to embrace that and use it to your advantage. It’s is a long journey of self-acceptance and it’s easier said than done, but take the first step.
Aquarius need their space and freedom. Despite their humanitarian and altruistic nature, they’re still very independent and autonomous when it comes to their mindset and their lifestyle. They often need time alone to recharge as they dislike feeling smothered.
Authenticity is the key. Aquarians are transparent, they live by their own set of convictions and principles. They seek to be fair like their fellow air sign Libra but they’re not trying to make everyone happy: they want honesty and do what is right before anything else.
An Aquarian characteristic that is considered both a quality and a curse is the way they can detach. Aquarians want to be logical and objective which means people’s feelings - or even their own for that matter - aren’t their priority when judging a situation.
You can use this time to clear your head and be more unbiased when it comes to making decisions. If you’ve been having trouble trying to find an objectively good/fair solution to a problem in your life, right now is great for manifesting it. Try not to overlook emotions too much
Aquarius is about social groups and communities. For example, Tumblr is an Aquarius and that’s the platform on which fandoms really started to form and become popular. Despite being the outcasts, Aquarians still seek to find likeminded people to have a sense of belonging.
Aquarians give greater importance to friends than the rest of the zodiac, they might even make family out of them. As air signs, communication is really important and so is friendship, so use this time to reconnect with your friends especially if you’ve been neglecting them.
Lastly Aquarians, as co-ruled by Saturn, are often mature and take responsibility for their actions. Indeed, this usually makes them hardworking and ambitious as they take accountability for everything in their life and rarely point fingers for their own mistakes.
Overall Aquarius season is a great time to think about & make plans for the future, try to be more objective and fair in situations in which your emotions might be clouding your judgement. Learn to be more independent and make your own decisions; don’t be afraid to stand alone.
You can use this time to work for the betterment of your community/society rather than focusing on your individual goals. Try being more open-minded/less judgmental. Don’t neglect your alone time if you need it.
