WAYV: signed album thread. This contains all of the signed albums through eras. If you have trouble recognizing signatures, please use this thread as reference. ⚠️ There are fake signed albums from my ASSUMPTIONS.
190509—WAYV TAKE OFF.
WAYV TAKE OFF is the group’s first EP—physical album. The members who participated in the album are in no following order: Ten, Hendery, Xiaojun, Winwin, Yangyang, Lucas, and Kun.
Since it was a Chinese press release only, there are no such thing as promotional albums. A difference in promotional albums are often noticeable on korean releases, however, the signatures for WAYV TAKE OFF are signed on a regular album.
There are different patterns for WAYV TAKE OFF signed albums. There is no “common pattern” since most of these albums seem to vary in signatures but are legit. Below are a few examples:
There are also legit wayv signed albums that are used with a different marker other than black. In the photo below, a gold marker was used to sign the take off album.
For the pen pressure, this doesn’t necessarily reveal it could be faked. Most of the time, the pen pressures might look identical, but that isn’t a good indicator to tell it an album is legit or fake. The type of pen WAYV members signed on the album varies from thin to thick.
Now, this is where I will explain each members signature and their consistency on whether or not they changed their signature or left it as it is.
Ten—his signature can vary. For each batch of albums WAYV signed, there are different patterns for Ten. This doesn’t necessarily mean it’s faked, he just has A LOT of different signatures. Overall, he is very inconsistent so determining legit albums using his signature isn’t—
reliable. WAYV signed a lot of take off albums, so each album varies in signatures for some members.
Hendery—he started off signing with a more distinctive “H” but as he starts signing more and more albums, he begins to loop the “H” resulting in a little curve. This is very prominent during his fansign pages. There is always a “.” near his signature. He is semi-consistent.
Kun—by far he is the most consistent member that has probably only changed his signature slightly but still is similar to his NCT 2018 Empathy signature. Personally, when determining legit albums, I always use his signature as a reference.
Xiaojun—in terms of consistency he’s in the middle. His beginning and ending strokes have always been consistent, it’s just towards the middle his “B” or “3” loop can sometimes look a bit irregular. Sometimes his ending loop will be a lot more curved or angular depending on how—
he signed the album. Unfortunately, his signature is easy to forge which gives scammers the opportunity to perfect his signature.
Winwin—based on consistency, he’s leaning towards the non-consistent side only because there were times where he would sign a bit differently than his more used signature like the first and second photo. Winwin is messy with his signature so depending on how he writes, it will—
Fluctuate. He has this thing where he puts 2 dots towards his signature and sometimes he would connect them as shown on the second photo. When identifying his signature I always look for certain specifics. Normally his W Isn’t that full like maybe a half W and then the loop.
Although this pattern isn’t fake, there have been a lot of take offs Mimicking this particular pattern. I would advise to stay away from these signed albums since around 80% of those are fake. To obtain this pattern, you have to attend the first fansign of take off.
Lucas–based on take off albums he’s very consistent, but if it wasn’t take off albums and solely on his signed albums in general, he is very inconsistent. His signature does fluctuate, but for take off signed albums, they have been consistent. Normally for patterns, photo 1 and 2
are the most common. Albums 3 and 4 are less common because of the color of the pen and on album 4 this signature he tends not to use as often, but it does exist. His signature is easy to forge, so I don’t recommend using his signature as a reference if you are looking to—
identify if the signed album is legit based on his signature.
Yangyang—out of everyone, his signature doesn’t really change as much except from that one fansign where everyone’s sig looked different. He will have his specifics which is the x2 but it’s slightly more like a squiggle. His x2 becomes a lot neater during fansigns but on promo—
promotional given albums, Theyre a lot more simplified. Although take off does not have an official promo album since the album was not released in Korea, the members still signed it to be given to music shows or in general to PDs when they promoted slightly in Korea.
This signature pattern of yangyang is rarely used. He doesn’t do the two dots on his Y anymore. There definitely are fansign albums with this pattern and most of them have been fake. I wouldn’t advise on purchasing one that has this specific pattern since 80% of the time it’s—
Fake. He has been shortening his signatures a lot, so I won’t be surprised if he drops the x2 later on or squiggles but for take off signed albums, this is generally the pattern excluding photo 4 which is rarely seen.
Please keep in mind this thread was made at the beginning of 2020, so there might have been more photos of take offs with different colors of pen or a different pattern. Since it is 2021, a lot of time has past and this guide isn’t as updated, but it serves its purpose in case—
you need a reference. If you have anymore questions, don’t hesitate to reach me via dm. There has been an increase in fake signed take off albums, so I advise everyone who is interested in purchasing to always double check and ask for a second opinion.
