This is obvious bc most population has never owned a laptop, used a computer. Using the internet solely through mobile and bc WhatsApp is a non discriminatory chat app (unlike elitism of blue vs green bubble) also doesn’t depend on either just WiFi or cell service.
Doing biz through WhatsApp also breaks barriers between customer - seller direct line of communication. Instead of abandoned carts you get a chance to interact, negotiate, with your customer in real time instead of them just visiting and leaving your website without converting.
Culturally Latin American people are used to more interaction than your average American consumer. That’s because there’s a lot more distrust from side of consumer as the region is very unregulated in terms of business (even the big economies like MX, BR) so WhatsApp is

Through WhatsApp customers can provide more details as to what they’re looking for.

Latin America is unripe and our consumers are evolving differently than those in developing markets, businesses here are embracing technologies that are giving them a huge competitive advantage (a direct line of communication with their customers)

The only thing that’s missing is the fintech aspect — every salesmen with a phone can use WhatsApp as a POS and that is HUGE considering the size of LatAm population that is already on the app
