All right I’m not one to really make commentary on things such as the #PatrickMahomes controversy but I decided to bring clarity for those who dont read or research. Disclaimer: There is no way I can fully understand the thought process of a 16/17 year old boy from TX.
The tweet in question is the one pictured below. Note the date at the bottom. #PatrickMahomes was 16 years old at the time. This was also 1 year prior to the wrongful murder of Trayvon Martin
Now these are some of the slain victims of police brutality in 2011: Kenneth Chamberlain, Alonzo Ashley, Kenneth Harding, Raheim Brown, Reginald Doucet, and Kelly Thomas. Note: This doesnt include all the victims of 2011 but Rest in Power to them and prayers for their family
In regards to his tweet “stop resisting & assaulting cops”, that can be in relation to a number of police brutality cases, an encounter someone he knows had, or simply talking from his ass. I will not dismiss the tweet because “16 year olds say crazy shit sometimes” because...
this type of talk ultimately stems from the environment in which #PatrickMahomes was raised. When I was 16 years old, I never had the privilege of being ignorant such as this. My family made sure I was aware of my place in America and and who I was in the eyes of Lady Justice...
They say Lady Justice is colorblind but lets be honest, the bitch sees clearly when is comes to black and brown and that justice never swings our way.
Yes he’s tweet in 2011 was insensitive and ignorant. There are number of factors of why people may resist the direct orders of police and many of us know of cases where people dont resist and still get slain. But in regards to Trayvon Martin’s case...
It seems #PatrickMahomes was not suprised but still disappointed at the verdict from the wrongful murder of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman. Note the tweet and date at the bottom. Mahomes was 18 years old at the time.
Heres an additional tweet that #PatrickMahomes made. I personally don’t see how this can be taken as if he’s defending George Zimmerman. That’s why I believe it’s important for everyone to do their own RESEARCH and then make their own opinions on the matter.
It seems to me a lot of the controversy and anger is rooted in folks not actually reading the tweets and arguing with these bot accounts that be having 2 followers.
This sudden confusion seems like a way to distract #PatrickMahomes and the other Chiefs players while also severing the love and loyalty Kansas City fans have for the team. (probably also to diminish any and all hope of playing in and winning the Super Bowl)
I personally have not watched nor will I watch any future games this season because #IKneelWithKapernick STILL. Just be sure to actually read the tweets and make an opinion for yourselves folks. #PatrickMahomes
