what did Klopp do? Take the creativity away from the center and instead use the FBs as playmakers.3 tactical players in MF to deal with transitions and block space to ensure compactness throuout the game. The real problem in that set up is the lack of indvl quality bar Ox in mf.
will see it as a problem once again when they finally slow down because what they do is not sustainable.
What will we do?We have already seen the 433.A duo like Gallagher/Mount + a passing DM is very close to Citys MF from an attacking perspective.HOWEVER,these 8s are also tactical players-immense engine,block space,more natural deeper etc.Mount is 100x better than Silva def wise.
We have found a solution to both Klopps and Peps problem with RB with Reece. A RB who can contribute offensively/in the build up but can also shut down transitions/win ISO 1v1s.Add a LB to that and we are in for a fun time.If we get Sancho we will have 2 double-double wingers
+a 25G striker.Most importantly,the front 3 can drag the team forward on their own-CHO/Sancho via 1v1 ability or simply going long to 6.5 Tammy. If RLC ever gets fit again we also have the bonus of a driving MF which City also lack bar KDB to some extent.Kovacic can do it too tbh
With Tomori and a new CB we will also have 2 absolute monsters physically who can step up and shut down transitions on their own.Zouma has been immense in that and imagine if we get a real WC player in his place.VVD-Gomez should be what we aim for.
More or less,imagine current Pool with extra 15 goals from MF,a 6.5 striker up top where there are 6 players who can deliver the goods.Will not be as compact but the offensive threat will compensate for that.
