Just a humble attempt to share some rare pics, news items, trivia, old film magazine clippings, film posters and notices etc on the best man we ever had—Jayan. These are from a good collection made over three decades or so by Mr. Rajan, a retired Railway official, now staying —>
—> in a place called Pallikkathodu in Kottayam. This collection is the result of his continuous efforts over the last three decades or so. Could take some quick pics from the vast items, and here I go...
Not following any particular pattern here. Just posting pics as they’re saved in phone.
Some clippings from old film mags now. Some items and headings are just hilarious. Rumours were so strong back then that he’s not dead, and is recovering fast. Another one was that someone conspired him to get killed in an accident. So many stories...
Don’t know even Prithvi knows if his dad had a column / item like this back then...
Unni Mary ee March il Pre- Degree pareeksha ezhuyhunnu!
P. Padmarajan. Times just after Peruvazhiyambalam perhaps...
Good evening, Mrs. Prabha ((and) Narendran...
One of his letters. Sigh...
Lust Stories....
Time. Does it heal everything?
This jeep was featured in his Agnisharam. Bullet in Moorkhan (as per this clipping), and the Honda in Love In Singapore.

But then he looked the best not on machines but on horses. Naturally.
He was so fond of his Fiat. In his final journey to hospital from Sholavaram on that ill-fated, rainy Sunday afternoon, she was the one who carried him.

Where would this car be now? Even the company has almost exited India.
Some more trivia on his last releases.
This was the first release he had in 1980. Reportedly the 500th film of Prem Nazir, too.
He left to shoot the climax scenes of Kolilakkam (on 15th November) from the location of this film in Peerumedu.
One of the most cruel Fridays Mollywood might have ever had. Deepam and Anthappuram were released on 14th November, just two days before his death. Pamchapandavar also was announced to be releasing on that day, but it didn’t happpen. Ever, thereafter.
This perhaps is his final release. Sometime during 1981.
The only Tamil film he had. Turned out to be a flop.
This film is special since it had Mohanlal also in it. One more interesting thing is that it’s music was composed by K. J. Yesudas. @MusicAloud
His 100th appearance. Remember the AB- Pran starrer Zanjeer? This was a remake of the Hindi blockbuster.
This was one film which got delayed too long, and had to be made complete somehow by adding unused portions shot for some other incomplete movie. Released, but it was not a success.

You’ve heard of its producer. V. P. Moideen. Kanchana’s own Moideen...
