Planning for solo Xmas.

I usually send this out at this time of year for people who know they will be alone on Xmas day and find that difficult.
I’ve spent many Xmas days alone over the years for various reasons so I have some coping strategies that you might find useful.
1/
1.This is the time to plan your day. Nothing worse than waking up, switching on your telly to see Disney Xmas scenes and you have a tin of beans and no beer.

2. Plan the day in detail. Hour to hour. Fill those slots with the stuff you love to do whatever that is.

2/
3. Now is the time to load up your favourite box set or book or game etc to treat yourself on the day.

4. Make yourself your favourite food, whether that is reheated Chinese takeaway, or you cook a meal. Sit at the table. Make a fuss. Play some music. Spoil yourself.

3/
5. If you feel sad, remember that’s okay too. Feel your feelings, have a cry, then follow 1-4.
Remember it’s just one day.

If you need to talk ring the Samaritans or don’t forget there are usually a lot of people on Twitter in the same boat. There is usually a hashtag to chat on
