alex burrows’ goal in overtime of game seven against chicago was the greatest goal in #canucks history. it was the loudest and most emotional i’ve ever been celebrating a goal. my brother and i blacked out from euphoria. hugging, crying, cheering, relief, excitement, ecstasy.
i had these 8x10s of the canucks captains along the trim of my crown molding, and when we came to after several minutes to breathe, they had fallen down and were resting on my coffee table. we hadn’t noticed.
as alex burrows enters the #Canucks canucks ring of honour tonight, i will remember that moment. and countless others. his ot goal in game 2 of the final. his ot goal in game 4 in 2009 to eliminate st. louis and give vancouver our first ever 4-game sweep.
his short handed goal against carolina in 09 to turn around the canucks season, and ultimately catapult them into the most successful era we’ve ever known. he was there for all of it. our most clutch vancouver canuck, ever. all the while, shooting an arrow to the sky.
congratulations on entering the ring of honour, @aburr14.
