It’s #WorldPrematurityDay. If you have friends whose
arrives early, some ideas:
—give tiny clothes. 0-3 is HUGE on prems
—help with logistics, eg nursery drop for older kids
—give lifts to and from hospital
—cook/buy freezer food
—never send a msg just saying ‘how are you?’

—if you’re a boss, for the love of God don’t count a prem birth as a decision to start parental leave early
—hand cream is a good present for sanitiser-wrecked hands
—don’t comment on the tininess and fragility of the baby. It’s not like we don’t know.

—Remember mothers who have early births often haven’t had any break between work and motherhood and no time to get into the headspace. A term birth is a big enough adjustment, never mind one months or weeks before time.
