February 19, 2013 the body of 21 year old Chinese-Canadian tourist, Elisa Lam, was discovered in a water tank atop the Cecil Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. She had been reported missing at the beginning of the month.
Elisa was due to check out of her hotel room February 1st. That same day, the security cameras picked up the now infamous video of her in the elevator acting strangely. This only added to the mystery.
Officially, her death was ruled accidental, but many questions still remain. However, there are a few theories out there surrounding the possibility of her death being caused by fowl play. In this thread we will look at 3 theories in particular.
Theory 1
Elisa was tragically murdered by someone she had just met, possibly a hook up, minutes after the video was taken. Basing off that theory we erect this “last seen” chart at 2pm PST on February 1st. This is the supposed time stamp for the elevator video.

Rising is at 0 degrees cancer, a fresh change, showing that circumstances were already in flux for her. Forensic astro uses the principals of Horary astro which makes the moon the automatic co ruler of any chart. However, with cancer rising, its also the main ruler of the chart
The moon is in Libra the 5th house which represents fun, but also encapsulates hotels, dance halls, & sensual fun to name a few things. Libra is ruled by Venus, planet of love & beauty, which is tragically found in the 8th house of sex & death.
The descendant represents the perpetrator & here its in Capricorn, making its ruler Saturn. Saturn is in the 5th house of the chart; fun, creativity, sensual encounters, hotels, dance halls, etc. This suggests the perp was someone she met at the hotel or intended to hook up with
The lack of aspects between the moon & Saturn suggests that the relationship to this other person (potential perp) isn’t yet established. Perhaps they had just recently met, or perhaps the perp had simply seen her at the hotel a few times.

Supposing this was a murder, Elisa was not murdered moments after the elevator video as is widely speculated. Based off this we build a new last seen chart, changing the time to 4pm on the same day.

The rising & descendant remains the same, leaving the moon to still represent Elisa, & Saturn to represent the location of the perp in relation to her. However, this now moves them both from the 5th house of fun, to the 4th house.
As I previously discussed in my thread regarding the 27 club, the 4th house represents a finality in death, vs the 8th representing a more metaphorical death; transformation. This supports the theory that she was killed that same day, but not minutes after the elevator.
Venus also moves in this chart & is tightly conjunct the descendant. Further suggesting the possibility of a sexual or romantic encounter with the potential perp. She was attracted to this person, either for a quick date, or for a possible hook up. We will never know for sure.
Theory 3
The third theory suggests that Elisa was killed by hotel staff. This is speculated due to the location in which her body was found, in the water tank above the hotel. For this chart we work 24hrs prior to the discovery of her body on 19th of February, 2013.

The chart ruler here is the Sun, which is tragically found in the 8th house of death, under the water sign Pisces. Coincidentally Elisa’s body was found in water. However, Pisces is also gentle & the final sign of the zodiac. We see that she met her end in calm waters.
The moon (co ruler) is in gemini in the 11th house of large groups of people, conjunct Jupiter which magnifies anything it comes into contact with. This foreshadows the fame that would surround the case. With gemini showing the diversity in opinion about her case.
The descendant is in Aquarius which is ruled by Uranus. In this chart the perp is represented by Uranus which can be found in the 9th house of travel. Uranus is disposed of by Mars, which rules the 10th house under Aries, suggesting a degree of authority, possibly hotel staff.
Mars is in the 8th house of death. All this suggests that the perp knew she was already dead & placed Elisa’s body in the tank. However, this person was also amongst those who was present when her body was “discovered” possibly because they were working in the hotel at the time.
We might never know for sure what caused Elisa’s tragic death. My heart goes out to the family for their loss, especially for the pain they must have experienced when people suggested Elisa’s mental illness was to blame.
Bipolar disorder is widely misunderstood & overly sensationalized by the media. Elisa was a bright young woman, under care & medication as reported in the autopsy. She was not some “crazy person” who accidentally killed herself during some “bout of insanity”
