I keep being told I can't #yegbike with kids and errands. I do it every week. This thread is meant to show my #quaxing journey this week.

And we are off! 4 C in #yeg with a light breeze.
1st stop @EPLdotCA for new books for the week. 2.7km, 10min travel time
Of course, there is usually play time at @EPLdotCA as well!
1.2km 7 min travel time and now shoping for new winter boots. Feet keep growing 😬

#yegbike #quax
.3km and 5 min travel time. Lunch stop.

Kid's choice, so healthy all the way 😅😬
.9km 8 min travel time. Grocery stop!
This cartload will shortly be in the bike. With kids. #quaxing
Under the bench storage hold some groceries.
This wasnt a huge shop so i only used my purse pannier, the bench storage and some box space. If i need more, i have better grocery panniers and a box for the top of the rack.
Home safe. 3.1km, 14 min travel time. Now to unload and put away everything
In summary, 4 stops, 8.4km and 44min travel time. I don't think I would have been any faster in a car, especially as I'd be strapping kids into car seats.

Totally normal Saturday afternoon task; hundreds of families in #yeg probably did the same. We just used a bike
I could talk to the kids the whole time & I had no worries about them walking in parking lots as we pretty much parked at the door everywhere.

The kids enjoy the bike & this works all winter as well; we just add more layers and a cover on the box.
I'm not saying this works for everyone. But its a lot easier than many think. You can do the same with a trailer, and a bike w/rack can haul a lot.

An e-assist bike isn't cheap upfront, but long term we save 1000s. So in summary, yes, errands w/ kids by bike work. #yegbike
