A message from I, pig, the anime social doctor - those who call anime gay/influence others to prejudicely do so are the ones that irritate me. They say gay when they don’t know enough to critique, so they dismiss it as something socially out-able instead.
It gives me joy when I can unforcefully expose fellow minorities by getting close enough to the topic, but not pushing it to a nerdy degree. Minority cultures are seen as cool now, so what minorities deem as okay it can normalize it to the ‘cool’ caucasians.
To clarify, PoCs have typically been out here and caucasians have too, but you’d be deemed geeky by the ‘cool’ caucasians until the culture started to shift towards foreign ideas, in the US Black Culture’s really popular & ‘cool’ now, to which it enjoys shows like DBZ.
It’ll differ situationally per region, but it was a strange bystandard effect of ‘I can’t like this because I won’t be deemed cool. The reason why they don’t like it is because others don’t deem it as cool.’ A loop. But now tables have turned so that it’s normalizing now.
TL;DR - Anitwitter rise up, now is our time but don’t push it by stretching the geeky rubberband too far, else broad misconceptions about the genre arrives. No matter who you are.
Oh, and keep those stupid ass hentai outfits off your motherfuckin’ back. I hate those kids. Damn. Ruining it for the rest of us, like fuck off. GAH!
