I'm reading @zanopticon's interview with @LBardugo on #NinthHouse and it is everything:

"I don't believe that I should have to put [my trauma] on display to justify writing a novel. I'm disturbed by the performances we require of women authors." https://www.bustle.com/p/leigh-bardugo-wants-ninth-house-to-fck-you-up-a-little-18841924
boss energy:

"'There's this wall that drops where people feel like you have, by writing a book, given them permission to bring out into the open the deepest parts of yourself.'

Either way, Bardugo remains unapologetic about the book’s actual content." 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
And I love and appreciate how specific she is. It is women this happens to, again and again. She goes on to talk about how she wrote the truest story she could and how like yeah she does want it to shock you because it's messed up stuff, you shouldn't be comfortable.
Also, love this: "You give your heart to a book. And sometimes the book eats your heart, and sometimes it returns your heart whole."

would wear this tshirt @Claribel_Ortega
but yeah it's like also sad that the very readers ive seen upset about "the content" in ninth house have also been women and im just like really... go get mad at the dudes or better yet dont try to burn a book just cause it's not for you
