Brie Larson's Life Story (A Thread) #WeLoveYouBrie #HappyBirthdayBrie
Brie was born on October 1, 1989 in Sacramento, California. Because of Brie's father's half French roots, her first language was french during her early childhood. Brie was homeschooled and she would often write & direct movies in her garage with her cousins.
At the young age of 6, Brie told her mother that acting was her "dharma". That same year, she auditioned for a training program at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, where she became the youngest student admitted.
Next year when Brie turned 7, her parents divorced. She had a dysfunctional relationship with her father, she said;

"As a kid I tried to understand him and understand the situation. But he didn't do himself any favors. I don't think he ever really wanted to be a parent."
Just after the divorce, Brie's mom moved to Los Angeles, with her 2 daughters to fulfill Brie's acting ambition. Because of very limited finance earnings, they lived in a very small apartment and even struggled to get daily food.
As Brie was growing up, she would often see her mom sobbing, while covering her mouth after her daughters had gone to bed because of their life conditions.

Brie was almost 8 years old so she didn't understand what was happening and why she won't go back to her dad.
Brie auditioned for several roles & TV Commercials and finally, her first major role was in a TV Sitcom "Raising Dad" which only aired for 1 season. For almost the next decade, Brie got small roles in several movies & TV Shows like The Spectacular Now, Greenberg etc.
All while struggling in her acting career, Brie also started to gain interest in music & learned to play guitar at age 11. An Executive Producer encouraged Brie to write and record songs, which she later posted at her website.
At the age of 16, Brie released her first album, "Finally Out of P.E.". The lead single "She said" peaked at #31 on Billboard Hot Singles Sale and received radio airplays.

She then went on tour with Jesse McCartney, opened for him during his Beautiful Soul Tour.
Brie has said that she frequently considered giving up acting at that time, as she found it difficult to find much work, as everyone wanted her to be the "it" girl in movies.

So, to support herself, she started to work as a DJ in clubs.
There were some days where Brie ate sandwiches at the festivals because she didn't have money to buy even Ramen Noodles.

Also, Brie has suffered from extreme anxiety growing up.
In 2013, Brie got her first major achievement as she was honored with "Rising Star Award" at Maui Film Festival.

Even though she was the star of the night, Brie didn't have a fancy dress or even a glam team. So she just wore the best thing she could find in her closet.
Brie opened up about that day on her Instagram few years ago, stating;

"Before we went to the ceremony I felt flashes of embarrassment – I was worried I was too fat, too ugly, too depressingly banal to be honored. I cringed to take photos.”
After "Short Term 12", Brie was starting to gain a little stardom & even started to get bigger roles.
In 2014, Brie prepared herself by spending a month isolated in her apartment. She interacted with specialists on sexual abuse and researched the lack of nutrition that a person in captivity would suffer for the movie, "Room".
To achieve the look, she stayed away from sunlight, modified her diet, and exercised extensively to lose weight. She collaborated closely with Jacob Tremblay, who played her son, and spent time performing activities that mirrored those of their characters.
In 2016, Brie won several awards for her work in "Room" including an Oscar, Golden Globe, Stars Guild Award etc.
As her career started to take off, Brie bought her very first car in 2016, 3 YEARS AGO!!

Soon enough, she started to get even bigger roles in movies like Kong Skull Island, The Glass Castle, Basmati Blues etc.
Brie was contacted by Marvel in 2016 for the role of "Captain Marvel" & after a lot of thinking, Brie finally signed a deal with Marvel & almost 3 years later, Captain Marvel is now one of the most successful superhero/Marvel movie of ALL TIME!
Brie is an open ally of LGBTQ+, sexual assault survivors & rights of POC in Hollywood.

She also efforts to share her platform with different women & creates a really good example of women empowerment.
We have all seen how much irrelevant backlash she gets but just like always, Brie has been consistent towards her goals & stayed true to what's in her heart, and that's what makes her so inspiring.

Today we celebrate her birthday as we are all grateful for her!
