There is an area in Duplin county (located in North Carolina) that is predominately black. In that same area you can find hundreds of hog farms. These hog farms continuously fail to regulate the toxic emissions that are released.
Black residents have actually been hit with gusts of PIG MANURE from the farmers spraying it on their fields. Studies found that this area had higher rates of infant mortality, mortality due to anemia, kidney disease, tuberculosis, septicemia and the lowest life expectancy.
The black residents who live close to these operations have for decades endured headaches, nausea, and vomiting spells as the smells from the hog-waste lagoons travel to their homes, many of which are less than a mile away. https://psmag.com/social-justice/environmental-racism-in-north-carolina

And maybe they'd have a point if those families arrived in Duplin County after the farms and lagoons were already set up. But those families owned and settled the land well before the first hogs got there."

This is why I will never understand yall defense of capitalism because it continuously protects these corporations and businesses that physically harm black communities. No amount of black wealth will have you escaping environmental racism.
