Before the next scene in the melodramatic saga that is modern #terror theater, let us take a small step back in time to observe some of our previous acts.

1/ Critical to the understanding of US policy today is the conceptualization that the terror wars have long been in the wheelhouse of US machinations.

2/ Meet Jayna Davis, perhaps the lesser precursor to the notorious Judith Miller - key propagandists for the 9/11 wars.

3/ In her book 2004 The Third Terrorist, Davis takes a sharp turn away from the clear domestic origins of the attacks to make the case for what would be a landmark event in state sponsored terrorism by alleging that it was “likely” Iraqi intel sourced the plot to McVeigh.
4/ Much of her thesis revolves around the accusations & investigation of Hussain Hashem Al-Hussaini who filed a libel lawsuit immediately in the wake of the bombings against a local news outlet reporting alleged links to the bombing.

5/ But alleged the plot did not stop at the Iraqis. Davis asserts that this cell was being given financial and logistical support by guess what other Middle East bogeyman? The PLO.
6/ The to do-list continues: Davis alleged Terry Nichols likely received bomb making training from al-Qaeda during a trip to the Philippines. Should be noted, al-Qaeda & the gov. of secular Iraq were sworn enemies.
7/ The Iran connection. That’s right, after years of bloody, grinding warfare against each other, Iran & Iraq conspired to strike the US using American operatives.

8/ Not complete without a full throated endorsement of the Iraq invasion of 2003.
9/ Among the massive pile of coincidences and oddities that surround this event, it is very interesting to note that Davis was one of the first press members at the scene of the OKC bombings in 1995.
10/ While Davis may present the most exaggerated and hyperbolic attempts to link the bombings to almost any Middle East actor of non ally status, there were other softer attempts to implant this idea into the American psyche. Courtesy of NPR:

12/ Speaking of useful, let us take a step back in time with Joe Biden. Biden’s precursor bill to the Patriot Act failed to pass in 1995, months before the attack.
Post OKC bombing, a repackaged version was easily passed by Congress, laying groundwork for the Patriot Act.

13/ A fun aside, Biden couldn’t seems to “remember” when exactly he drafted his anti-terrorism bill.
14/ Fast forward to today & Biden has garnered the full-throated support of every major propaganda wing of the US empire. One might conclude that due to Biden’s allegiance to the tools & will of Empire that he has certainly earned his “turn”, even if he doesn’t remember why.
15/ To tie Davis and the narratives of the OKC bombings to our current state of play:
It’s not the Likudites nor the Saudi’s that drag the US to war, they might share interest, but Davis’s work exemplifies that the US has long sought to dominate the region, by any excuse.

16/ Propagandists & politicians careers have been made via terror theater - no surprise that US policy is dependent on its perpetual nature.
Ending regime change wars in this context thusly not enough - we have to end the terror wars, full stop, before the cycle is unbreakable.
