🔥 Quick thread about Space Force. Our future, most assuredly, will include Jan 1 2060.
On that day, what will space 'be'.
Let's discuss...
There are 5+ crewed bases on the Moon supporting science and the economy.
There are crewed habitats across cislunar space, Low Earth Orbit and across the Moon and Mars supporting the overall logistics for space manufacturing, tourism, and resource extraction
Those habitats in space, the Moon, and Mars are progressively constructed and maintained using extraterrestrial resources.
The space economy is expanding rapidly, contributing at +/- 10% of global gross domestic product and diverse participation from nations
The 'economy' includes power, planetary communications, global information services, manufacturing, resource extraction, and tourism
Major industrial capacity for power, resource extraction, and manufacturing has developed, driven primarily by terrestrial demand, but increasingly to support the space economy
Space is protected as a free domain under a rules-based, international order with established norms of behavior that promote the philosophy of open trade and space as a commons for all of humanity
Were stuck in 2019: The United States is in this war, we have to win.
The problems of 2060 are today's. We must imagine the need to protect the combined commercial, civil, and military command, control, communications...
computer, intel, surveillance/reconnaissance infrastructure to monitor/ control space operations and provide info services in/ through/from the cislunar environment during peace and conflict.
Our military power must display superiority in time and place as needed for conflicts within space and as part of larger, crossdomain conflicts. Such as...
to preempt any other nations monopolizing key logistics points (lunar poles, Lagrangian points, etc.) or key assets (asteroids, lunar water, etc.) for military uses.
You know why you actually know nothing about the space force but idiotic memes, because Air Force placed a gag order = "Restrictive Public Affairs Guidance" which stopped advocacy for a Space Force and stifled public debate.
🇺🇲 Space Force: new industries...
Space-based internet, in-space transportation, in-space propellant manufacture, lunar and asteroid mining, space-based solar power-beaming, orbital and lunar tourism. And you never even knew...
And, 😡Cos no jobs is better then millions of jobs! The head of House Armed Services Committee opposes Space Force, it "waive(s) long-standing and effective elements of civil service rules, pay rates, merit-based hiring, and senior civilian management practices.”
🌞Most importantly Space Force will need pets.
This is Murphy, he a mini doberman. Nancy has never been a dog person, but you know how that goes, they clicked.
