A Thread of how of how fandom view black female characters
They’re always annoying, even they do nothing but stand in a room
They’re always the worst written character always without fail
Fandom only likes the black female as long as she stays in the “Friend zone” or caters to white storylines
Always thinks the black woman is at fault or will nit pick anything she does even if another non black female character has done it
Are normally the ones that people wish death on
Problematic if they do tiniest things wrong even though a White character has comitted the most henious crimes
Always called whiny, or angry if they show an emotion that isn’t happy all the time
Are called useless, despite the fact they go above and beyond and do more things than any of their white counter parts but somehow still get called useless despite the fact a white character can do the bare minimum and the fandom sings their praises
Black female characters never deserve an apology even though people keep using and abusing her
For some reason seem to “lack chemistry” with any love interest they are given and are always held to insanely high standards that white women are never held to.
Can be hated on with the most petty stupid reasons or people can’t place their finger on why they don’t like her.
This is all I can think of for now but if you guys think of anything let me know
Anytime people especially black women point out the terrible treatment and bias towards black women we are told to get over it or that race plays no part in the biases or horrible treatment.
Another thing to add when Black Female characters endure lots of trauma people will describe them as strong independent characters. This is an excuse so the creators can traumatize said black female characters even more!
Black Female characters mental health is always pushed aside. This is dehumanizing
They get told they are being defensive and nasty even though they are calmly explaining themselves but who white women are hardly if not ever told this crap
When a black woman is with a white man or shipped with them suddenly people want to be advocates for the lgbtq community and want to scream “Heteronormative bullshit”
Black Women are expected to be inclusive and all encompassing but when it comes time to include black women they are the most excluded group of people and skin tone defiently plays a role.
