7:49 AM - Flight 11 takes off from Boston Logan
8:15 AM - United Airlines Flight 175 takes off from Boston
8:20 AM - American Airlines Flight 77 takes off from Washington Dulles
8:42 AM - United Airlines Flight 93 takes off from Newark International Airport.
Flight 11 ✈️
There were 92 passengers onboard the Boeing.

We remember Captain John Ogonowski. He was a 52-year old pilot who was hired by American Airlines in 1978 after being in the US Air Force Reserves. He is survived by his wife & daughters.
Flight 11✈️

There was First Officer Thomas McGuinness. He flew F-14 Tomcats in the Navy & was a 12 year vet with American Airlines. He was a community & family man..
5 hijackers stormed the cockpit around 8:14 AM. Before dying, Ogonowski was able to engage the aircrafts radio system.

Hijacker, Mohammad Atta wanted to make an announcement to passengers but accidentally sent it to Boston ARRTC. LISTEN:
Betty Ann Ong was a flight attendant on board.

She notified American Airlines ground crew of the hijacking. She stayed on the phone 25 minutes giving information that led to the FAA closing the airospace for the first time in American history! LISTEN:
Betty was survived by her parents, brother and sisters. Her brother was up watching TV that morning & says his heart sank when he saw news coverage of Flight 11 hitting the north tower.
The hijackers diverted Flight 11, set for Los Angeles straight to Manhattan.
Flight 11 striking the north tower at 8:46 AM.

WARNING GRAPHIC‼️

The sky was crystal clear & blue. The temperatures were perfect.

This clip was actually from French film maker brothers who were shooting a documentary in NYC on a probationary firefighter at the time.
Flight 11 crashed through floors 93-99 of the north tower. The building burned for 102 minutes before collapsing at 10:28 AM.

Anybody above the impact zone were trapped.. the heat & fire was intense.
Richard Drew was a photographer..

He instinctively got out his camera & started shooting... and his photographs captured the horror of some of the decisions made by those trapped above the impact zone.
Flight 175✈️

There were 56 passengers and 9 crew members on board.

The Captain was Victor J Saracini. He was in Chicago a month before the attacks asking United Airlines about adding secondary barriers to the cockpits. He’a survived by his wife & two daughters.
Flight 175✈️

First Officer Michael Horrocks - a former Marine. His wife said the cockpit was full of laughter & light joy right before they took off that morning when he called home from the cockpit.
It was a scheduled flight from Logan International in Boston to LA.

There was also 5 hijackers on this flight.

Both pilots actually reported the strange transmission from Atta on Flight 11. It was the last transmission they did.
At the same time that Flight 11 crashed into the north tower, Flight 175 was being hijacked.

The hijackers stormed the cockpit & ushered crew and passengers to the back of the plane.

When nobody could get ahold of 175 they begin directing other aircraft away.
Peter Hanson was traveling on Flight 175 with his wife & 2-year old daughter.

At 8:52 AM, Peter Hanson called his father, Lee. He explained the hijacking & that the plane was flying erratically. People were stabbed and maced. There were Bomb threats.
“It’s bad, dad... I think we are going down. Don’t worry dad. If it happens it’ll be very fast... oh my God. Oh my God.”

The call started to end and Lee said he heard a woman screaming. We remember Peter, Sue & Christine.
Brian D. Sweeney also called his wife Julie from Flight 175. He left her this message. We remember Brian.
At 9:03 AM... 20 minutes after the flight plane hit, flight 175 crashes into floors 77-85 of the south tower.

The official notion of an attack starts to hit airwaves on major television stations.
Americans & American friends stood at the base of the towers... all staring up.

The reality of something far worst than one plane “possibly accidentally” hitting the north tower changes.

Everybody watches as many trapped above the impact zones.... jump.
Flight 77 ✈️

Charles Burlingame is a former fighter pilot & navy academy graduate. He is survived by his wife, daughter Wendy, grandson Jack, two brothers & a sister.

First Officer David Charlebois. He is survived by his parents & life partner of 14 years.
Flight 77

- there were 58 passengers on board.
- scheduled to depart for LA at 8:10 AM.
- There were also 5 hijackers on this plane.
- The plane was hijacked between 8:51 & 8:54 not long after Flight 11 hit the north tower & Flight 175’s hijacking was underway.
Unlike the other flights, there were no reports of anybody being harmed on flight 77. They were however shoved at the back of the plane.

They set the autopilot for Washington DC & Indianapolis Center tries contacting them.
Renee May was a flight attendent who called her mother & instructed her to call American Airlines. At that point they already knew about the hijacking.
Conservative commentator Barbara Olsen was on Flight 77.

She called her husband who was US Solicitor General Theodore Olsen. She told him the plane had been hijacked & they had box cutters and knives.
Due to misinformation, NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) believed that Flight 77 was Flight 11.

Two F-16’s set off for the flight.
At one point Flight 77 was only 6 miles from the White House. It was flying away from it though.

The F-16’s were going the wrong way at first & Shit towards DC. There was a calm chaos over radio.
9:30 AM - At 530 MPH Flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon... killing 125 people.
Flight 93 ✈️

There were 44 passengers onboard. Captain Jason Dahl learned how to fly before he learned how to drive. He was known for being all business and is survived by his wife and son.

We remember Capt. Jason.
First Officer Leroy Homer Jr. He was a a US Air Force Academy graduate & recruited high school students interesting in attending.

He is survived by his wife and daughter. We remember.
There were only 4 hijackers on Flight 93. It was set to depart from Newark, NJ to San Fransisco. Is set off at 8:42 AM.

4 minutes after the crew was warned about cockpit intrusion & the twin tower attacks.. the hijackers stormed the cockpit.

A timeline of the attack:
The plane dropped 600 feet as passengers were ushered to the back. The flight was diverted towards DC as passengers were told this over the announcements:
There were 35 air phone calls made on flight 93.

Jeremy Glick told his wife the flight was hijacked by dark-skinned men who looked “Iranian” wearing red bandanas & welding knives.
Lauren Grandcolas was 3 months pregnant when she called her husband Jack. She left him a message.

“I’m fine. I’m totally fine. I just want to tell you how much I love you.”
Tom Burnett called his wife and told her, “Don’t worry... we’re going to do something.”

& he was right. The passengers on Flight 93 DID do something.
Todd Beamer tried to call his wife but instead was redirected to GTE phone operator, Lisa D. Jefferson.

He said the group had planned to jump on the hijackers & fly the plane into the ground before anybody else could get hurt.

His last words: “Are you ready? Okay. Let’s roll.”
A struggled ensured on the plane. The hijackers jerked the plane right & left attempting to stop the passengers from retaliating.

Those brave souls used a food cart to break into the cockpit..... then...
Flight 93 crashed in a Shanksville, PA field around 10 AM at over 500 MPH. The impact left a huge crater.

The intended target was the capital building. We remember flight 93.
If you’re still reading this thread, I caution you to take heed to any triggers that may come out of viewing all images & videos I am about to post. We still remember. Thank you.
Kevin Cosgrove was an insurance business executive on the 105th floor of the south tower... above the impact zone.

He called 9-1-1 stating there were two other employees with him in an office where he had to break the windows.
“My wife thinks I'm all right, I called and said I was leaving the building and that I was fine, and then bang!" He stated...

His last words to the operater before the south tower collapsed.
A clip from the Naudet French brothers film 9/11:

When the firefighters entered the north tower they were inform all elevator shafts were broken. They had to take the stairs.

It takes a minute per flight of stairs carrying all of that equipment. Imagine going up 70 stories.
“The chiefs didn’t want anybody going through th lobby doors. First it was because of debris falling outside.... then... it was because of people falling outside.”

The crashing sound of a body... a life.. taken. Every step of the way inside the north tower.
When the south tower collapsed, all those who were outside of what would be ground zero saw the aftermath... like a desolate wasteland.

First responders were disoriented. Confused. But still had to work even harder to try & save those who may be lost.
Photograph of fireman, Mike Kehoe was shot by John Libriola who had an office on the 71st floor of the north tower.
2,977 people were killed September 11, 2001. 343 firefighters. 71 law enforcement officers.

After the attacks, many had to be treated for illnesses & injuries. PTSD. Depression. Cancer. More police have died after the attacks because of the attack than the actual attack.
I made this thread initially when I saw debates about 9/11.

I wanted to focus less on the politics, the conspiracies or the even the hijackers & more on the individual lives who left a print on American history..
Please keep in mind this isn’t even half the people who are apart of the 9/11 story. So many more heroes.

Those are the people we won’t ever forget... because they’re the spirit of the American bravery, tragedy & strength. I hope you felt this thread.
