Ardeshir Zahedi, the last Iranian Ambassador to the United States, was Washington’s most well-known playboy diplomat. Appointed by the Shah to create a positive perception of his country, he did that by hosting wild, Gatsbyesque parties for DC’s elite.

Zahedi used Iran’s embassy to host parties around the clock, filled with Dom Perignon, Caspian caviar, hallucogenic drugs, and strippers. Frequent guests included Kissinger, Spiro Agnew, Ronald Reagan, and John Wayne.

Though he was married to beautiful Iranian princess, Shahnaz Pahlavi, Zahedi had multiple affairs with socialites including famous actress Elizabeth Taylor and Bond Girl, Jill St. John. Washington Post journalist, Sally Quinn, (who he fuckd)called him DC’s most eligible bachelor
