No. 71 of #WaitforWynonna and it's a 3x01 *that* *SCENE* gif epic.

This scene, y'all!

From the beautiful slow-waking open, here.

(Shout-out to Nicole's bed feet. Why was the bed feet weirdly touching? Something about the messy bodily intimacy of bed sharing I think. I dunno.)
Both of them coming slowly to consciousness, and both immediately moving to touch, to connect.
Then - thank you show - genuine evidence that #Wayhaught actually talked about their shit!

(I do wonder if the dream references were joking, or real. They're light and easy about it here, but I can totally see Waverly anxiety dreaming about Nicole being married.)
Thank you, also, for clearly showing that it wasn't easy.

This scene implied there was a lot of conversations, hard ones at that.

And they're clearly mostly past it - but beautiful acting here - the quiet but still pervasive regret.
Oh, but the making up?

đŸ„°đŸ„°đŸ„°

This may well be my favourite Waverly smile of the whole goddamn series. So happy, so in love, so sweet...and so the other thing, too đŸ˜‰đŸ„°
Followed by, god bless, an absolute grade A top mark class 1 instance of #Wayhaught smiling into a kiss.

Awwww my heart ❀❀❀
But, it's Purgatory. So duty calls.

HOW much do I love Nicole's sleepy-grumpy 'no' objections to Wave getting up - practically slinging an arm around her at one point as if that would stop her.

Again, intimately in-character, soft as hell, and very, very funny 😂
Still, if Waverly has to get up, at least we're rewarded with this absolutely beautiful image of her.

The lighting and photography in this scene is, even by #WynonnaEarp #TotallyGorgeousTotallyGratuitousCinematogeaphy stands, just off the scale stunning.
Same for Nicole in bed. So beautifully lit, so naturally acted.

I love these two gifs. Two perfect encapsulations of our Nicole Haught - Nicole the cop and good person, who understands and supports Waverly and the whole Earp mission
But also, Nicole Haught, hopelessly besotted with one Waverly Earp.

đŸ˜ŠđŸ„°đŸ˜đŸ˜đŸ˜

SO frickin' cute, you guys!
I'd leave it there. But the show must go on - and with this phone call, the major story arc for the season is ominously set in motion.

(Side note: Nicole instantly drops into work-mode - both voice and, to an extent, body language. Great, subtle acting.)
But I so, so appreciated this beautiful little interlude, the calm before the storm, before all hell breaks loose.

All the kudos in the world, and hella *hella* kudos for Melanie Scrofano, who directed it - and absolutely knocked it out the park.

Til next time, folks!
