I follow accounts that inspire me, educate me, keep me optimistic, and--of course--make me smile and laugh. They are not mutually exclusive.
Making this my pinned tweet for the mo, since I haven't had one for a bit after having a brain fart and accidentally deleting the last one. I may make it a pinned thread, adding clarifiers as they come to me. This is a good start, I think.
Sticking this under my pin:

I don't owe you my follow.

I gain and lose followers all the time. I would hope you stick around because you like what you see, but if I follow, it's because I want to, not because I owe it. If that was how the Twitter worked I'd be over 1k by now.
Being verified doesn't mean I'll follow you or follow back. I follow a mixture of verified and unverified, and I follow because I want to. No, I don't think I'm special, but I think the accounts I follow are. Otherwise, I wouldn't follow them. I don't do FBRs for this reason.
I block *a lot* of accounts. As a writer, I worry I might be limiting my potential audience by doing that. Then I think, "Nah. If I block them, they won't like what I write anyhow. Besides, folks *rarely* buy my books, so..." ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

I have four out, y'all, if you're curious.
If I block you, it doesn't mean you won the argument. Sweetpea, it means you're a dumbass, and you're not worth the bother.
Why, yes, I do occasionally just tweet random shit.
Sometimes I think I tweet a lot, counting comments, RTs and original stuff, but apparently I don't? It's not a race, but instead of being the tortoise or the hare, I'm the puppy in the middle that finishes the race but stops along the way for boops and the occasional squirrel.
This is not a political account.

I'm just a human bean who cares about other human beans, and the current occupant in the WH is so antithetical to that, I gotta vent.

I'll get to posting about lambies and happy puppers when I no longer feel like I'm gonna 'splode.
