Most websites are now claiming that the ancient Egyptians knew about this cosmic event because it perfectly aligned with the Pyramids of Giza, even though it is not mentioned by any reputable source before 1998. Ray Mardyks even clarified his interpretation on Facebook recently.
The basis for these claims is that the Sun ☉ is aligning with Sirius ★ today but that happened on Saturday, July 6th, when Sirius wasn’t even visible because it is only just now in the process of its heliacal rise. Today, it rose at 36° N in Cancer ♋︎, nowhere near the Sun.
