-Write-up on @jasonrockwood's Presentation-

This is going to be a long one, so read carefully if you want to learn a thing or two.

There's A LOT of information in the presentation that Jason did for Darthmouth and i'll try to cover most of it in this long thread.

$VET #VET 1)
-Hybrid Blockchain-
Most of the time you hear fully public or fully permisioned.. Vechain's got permissioned write capability (security) & the transparency of a public chain (anyone can read). Few utilize that type of approach, but it contributes to enterprise adoption.
$VET 2)
-Why Proof Of Authority?-

E.g. with 'Proof of Stake' a whale with a high 'stake' could only have a financial interest.

As for PoA:
'The reputation and the genuine business interest of the participants who validate' weigh very heavy to be able to run an Autority Node.

#VET 3)
-Who Are The Authority Node Holders?-

The AN holders are known by the Vechain foundation, have genuine interest & fall in the following categories:

Business & Technical Partners
Academic Research Partners
Community Contributors
Blockchain Developers
Enterprise Users

$VET 4)
-Two Token System-

$VET=Smart Money & $VTHO=Energy.
Holding the VET token generates VTHO.

Comparison: It's like holding a farm full of chickens (VET) that produces eggs (VTHO) and the more the market demands omelets and baking the more valuable your chickens (VET) becomes.

5)
-Low Transaction Cost for Enterprises-

There is a mechanism that allows the foundation to adjust the transaction or generation rate or reduce the cost of the $VTHO required for transaction. So that the cost for enterprise transactions remains low.

$VET #VET #VeChain 6)
-History-
@sunshinelu24 wanted to authenticate luxury goods for @LVMH, so he started to explore blockchain tech. Sunny discovered many difficulties in @ethereum for enterprises to adopt it.. So he decided to create a friendly enterprise version called 'VeChainThor'

$VET #VET 7)
-Multi-party Payment (MPP)-

Allows for sponsored contracts (one covers for the other). It enables people to participate in the public domain without having to own any crypto assets.

Great solution as there's still a regulatory risk in holding crypto assets as an enterprise. 8)
-Multi-task Transactions-

It's essentially a batch transaction. You can bundle transactions into a single transaction which reduces the transaction cost considerably.

$VET #VET $VTHO #VeChain 9)
-Transaction Dependency-

If you want one transaction to execute after another transaction has completed, you'll be able to program it with 'Transaction Dependency'.

$VET #VET $VTHO #VeChain 10)
-Veforge-

'Transactions Per Second' isn't really a good measurement for the VeChainThor Blockchain. In the image below it states 37.8k TPS but the throughput is +- 400k clauses. The troughput lies much higher than Vechain gets credit for based on TPS alone.

$VET #VET $VTHO 11)
-More Transactions Than Bitcoin-

April 27th, the first time that the VeChainThor Blockchain processed more transactions at a 24-hour period than the Bitcoin Blockchain, as a result of certificate migration from @ethereum to VeChain through a Dapp by @Deloitte.

$VET #VET 12)
-DNV GL-
@DNVGL an investor in VeChain which participates very closely in the network by providing third-party authentication.

Without it the data you upload will be immutable, but if you put garbage (non-verified information) on the Blockchain it's just immutable garbage.
13)
-ToolChain-

ToolChain is a solution that requires no coding. It's a web application that allows businesses to create an account, login and then link NFC chips & other IoT devices to the VeChainThor Blockchain. Which can be attached or connected to the clients products.

$VET 14)
-Vechain China Adoption-

VeChain's 'Counterfeiting Solutions' are mostly adopted by China because there is a lot more at stake for Chinese consumers. Counterfeiting is a massive problem in China. The Chinese are the worst victims of Chinese counterfeiting.

$VET #VET 15)
-Partners VeChain-

VeChain has a lot of BIG partnerships and a lot of the products they are developing are still in the pipeline. Some of them will be released by the end of this year. Most of VeChain's partners are in some form the biggest in their industry.

$VET #VET 16)
-PICC Insurance Product Example-

An IoT device is placed in a truck doing cold chain logistics, at a certain point the temperature of the truck goes above the safety-threshold, then a smart contract is issued that processes a claim to PICC on behalf of the food vendor.

$VET 17)
-Carbon Credit Ecosystem-

E.g. you drive a BYD electric car, while driving you're rewarded with 'Carbon Credits' worth the equivalent of your emmission reduction. You can spend these 'Carbon Credits' e.g. on milk from a participating store which also wants to contribute. 18)
-Like & Share To Reach As Many Potential Investors As Possible๐Ÿฅฐ-

Well I hope you all like the information and I hope you've learned some new #VeFacts. ๐Ÿค“

Thank you @jasonrockwood for this amazing presentation, I've certainly learned a lot!๐Ÿ™Œ

Still very much worth a watch, Jason is very good in explaining and doing a presentation overall.. you'll be able to learn from that as well!๐Ÿ™
-Bonus: Walmart x VeChain x PwC-

Altho it's not in Jason's presentation, if you share this tweet, it is information that can't be left out!

@Walmart , @PwC & @vechainofficial have created a 'Blockchain Traceability Platform'. See article๐Ÿ‘‡
