People have been throwing birds at me again..... luckily I managed to dodge this Mistle Thrush.....

I also managed to dodge this House Sparrow launched at me!
Good job I have quick reflections, it could have been deadly!

I'd like to say that the instances of people throwing birds at me had passed, but alas no.... this Chaffinch almost had my eye out!

Someone threw a Great Tit at me the other day.....
It's a never-ending bombardment....

It's getting beyond a joke now..... luckily this Green Woodpecker was thrown way too high and missed me by quite a bit......

I thought the era of having birds thrown at me had passed, but no such luck.... this Meadow Pipit thrown at Portishead was almost a direct hit!

I'm getting quite good at dodging the birds thrown at me now.... This male house sparrow passed quite close, but I didn't even flinch....

This morning at RSPB Greylake, my attackers tried stealth tactics, by throwing Europe's smallest bird at me!!

I survived again.....just!

I'm losing count of the amount of different bird species being thrown at me, but luckily, none have hit me.... yet!

I almost made it through the whole of April, not having to dodge one launched bird.....until tonight!

Luckily this Great Spotted Woodpecker was thrown way over my head!

I wondered if my attackers would ever have the audacity to launch Britain's favourite bird at me, and tonight I had my answer!

This Robin just missed me luckily, but I'm fearing a direct hit one of these days...

I suppose it was only a matter of time before my attackers would launch a Swift at me, given how they soar through the air with such speed..... and tonight was the night..

Still missed me though!

So there I was tonight, photographing Sparrowhawks here and Buzzards there, when my sneaky attackers thought they'd take advantage of my distraction and throw a Goldfinch at me!

Luckily for me, they couldn't hit a barn door from 20 paces...

My attackers appear to have upped their game, it looks like they have attached some kind of miniature explosive to the beak of this Starling before launching it at me tonight....

If it had hit, the consequences could have been dire....

Greenfinch as a weapon!

Clearly my attackers missed again, as this bird sails harmlessly over my head, but I'm constantly having to stay alert because I never know where the next launched bird is coming from!

I'm starting to get the feeling the birds are on my side, and deviate their flight trajectory when launched at me by my attackers!
This male Chaffinch is a case in point, turning slightly in mid-air and giving me a knowing side glance as it sailed harmlessy by...

The other evening my attackers found a new bird to throw at me..... this Song Thrush!

I'm angrier than the birds......

My attackers have sunk to a new low..... they're now throwing baby birds at me!!

This juvenile Long Tailed Tit seemed oblivious to the nefarious intentions of the people who launched it at me, & having missed me, soon caught up with its siblings in a nearby tree.

This Goldfinch sailed by a bit too close for comfort!

It looks like it had been eating when it was grabbed by my attackers and hurled in my direction....

They threw another Green Woodpecker at me!

Probably thought their powerful, wood-pecking beak would cause maximum damage, but their aim was, once again, shoddy!

It's clear that my attackers have a favoured bird to use as a weapon, as I almost found to my cost this evening whilst walking around my Somerset village..... once again it was a Green Woodpecker launched my way!

Preferable to an actual yellow hammer I suppose....

Yesterday I was reminded about this photo I took a couple of years ago...
At the time I thought it was just a stooping Peregrine after prey... now I'm thinking it was actually the first attack by my enemies!

Today it finally happened, after almost a year of dodging avian missiles.....
No, I wasn't hit (as if!)
It was the first time a Blue Tit had been launched my way!

Yesterday, my sneaky attackers tried an old ploy in an attempt to catch me off guard.... launching this poor Wheatear at ankle height!

I was distracted by a rare bird at the Huntspill seawall today, so my attackers took advantage by throwing a Pied Wagtail at me!

So my attackers had the absolute temerity to throw a very rare bird at me!

The Redwings thought it was safe to come back to the Somerset Levels for the winter, but alas...... not with my persistent attackers still about!

This one was enjoying berries, minding its own business, when it was grabbed & hurled in my direction!

This Blue Tit was thrown at me from close range!

I'm starting to think I may have some kind of protective forcefield around me, either that, or the birds deviate their flight trajectory purposely, just enough to pass by harmlessly..... my attackers can't be this inaccurate!

Today I thought I was safe.
There were lots of people about, including the giant of a man that is @IoloWilliams2 , but alas, it didn't stop my attackers from plotting another avian assault!
This time they threw a very rare Eastern Yellow Wagtail at me!

My attackers are obviously bored with throwing common birds at me, or maybe it's just that they haven't had much luck with them, so they have recently taken to launching scarcer birds my way...... yesterday this Water Pipit was their weapon of choice!

It's a national lockdown, I thought I would be safe in my garden, but alas, no ..... my attackers must have been hiding in a neighbours tree when they threw this Greenfinch at me today!
