All these brought us great results that no other high spending new owner has had, better than Chelsea & Abramovic
While doing all this, the club was amassing all the top talents around the world and building a great academy. An academy that is one of the best in Europe and in terms of producing real professional footballers, it is arguably the single best talent factory in Europe
Our model although strongly criticised, especially our hiring and firing of managers, which was new to English football at the top level is now the order of the day. Managers are getting sacked more than ever
The underlining point here is that, Chelsea play by their own rules and often set the pace for others to copy.
With the appointment of Frank Lampard and Joddy Morris as head coaches, Chelsea are about to tear down the old module of operations which they set and others have followed and now about to write a new chapter.
Frank Lampard and Joddy Morris, will be the first English managers among the top 6 clubs. For a club that has not done that for 23yrs, and it's most successful era has been heralded by the best from abroad, it speaks volume
When Chelsea was appointing José Mourinho, there were just a handful of foreign managers in the league, today it is dominated by them
But this is not the most interesting thing here, in appointing these former players as managers, the club's biggest objective is to turn it's great academy into a direct supply to it's first team. This is something no top club in Europe's top 4 leagues has achieved convincingly
If Chelsea are able to succeed with this model, then it will cause a big revolution in European clubs operations and will see Chelsea again, on top of something they pioneered.
It's an exciting time for everyone at the club in finally making this smart move as Abramovic has always defied the dogma and succeeded. Clubs in Europe will be keenly watching. I am hopeful
