A good #ttrpg charsheet should:

evoke the game
make key information easily accessible
have a specific audience in mind
be as lean as possible

Let me unpick these slightly

1/
Evoke the game: this doesn't mean cover it with arcane symbols and blood splatters, but do at least try to use fonts and colours that reflect the genre/setting

2/
Key information: make it easy to find the things you need. Make the important stuff big and bold, so players can find it at a glance. Double important for con games.

Using icons or accenting colours can really help too.

3/
Have an audience in mind: the needs of beginning players, con players, experienced players are different. Charsheet design should reflect these needs. E.g. if you know there's no poison in a con scenario, don't list Dwarf's resistance to poison. It doesn't matter!

4/
Be as lean as possible: less is more. How often do you check your equipment list? Do you not know the species/gender of your PC? Write that stuff on the back or on note paper or nowhere at all. Only include what players truly *need*

5/
As a hobby, we're rubbish at this. I'm as guilty as anyone, with my love for spreadsheets. But charsheets don't have to look like insurance forms, nor should they look like eldritch scrolls. Make them clean, functional, intuitive and useful.

Thanks for coming to my etc...
