Okay, so basic human rights and decency aside, there are some other arguments against abortion that apparently matter. They don't matter if you understand how basic human rights work, but I'll play along for a few minutes. #AbortionRights #AbortionIsAWomansRight
"What about the men? They deserve EQUALITY in pregnancy decisions!" Guess what? They already have it. As soon as a man is pregnant, he gets to decide what to do what his pregnancy. That's #equality, isn't it great?
"If you have sex, you have to be ready to take responsibility for your actions!" I agree 100%. Sometimes getting an abortion is the most responsible choice a pregnant person can make. #AbortionIsHealthcare
"You know you might get pregnant, so you should have to live with being pregnant." Okay, tell that to lung cancer patients who still smoke and literally everyone else who seeks medical treatment for conditions that are exacerbated by their lifestyles. KIDDING! Just stop talking.
"You can always put the baby up for adoption." That's assuming the pregnant person's goal is to avoid parenthood, which abortion has very little to do with. Abortion is about stopping a pregnancy. Pregnancy =/= Parenthood.

"A baby is a person, too!" 1. Of course, but a fetus is not yet a baby. 2. Even if it was (which it isn't) the basic human right of bodily autonomy still applies. Person A is not obligated to keep Person B alive using their (Person A's) body.

"Just use birth control!" That's great and I'm sure we're all taking notes here, but meanwhile there are pregnant people who don't want to be pregnant and birth control won't stop their pregnancies. #Abortion, however, will.

"It's half the father's, he should get a say!" Look. If you give me a few cake ingredients and then I take the time to make a whole cake, that's my cake. If I decide I don't want it in my oven, I'm not baking it. Don't like how I run my kitchen? Keep your ingredients to yourself.

"You were born, what if your mum had an abortion?!" Um, what? My mum is profoundly pro-choice and if she'd decided to have an abortion, I wouldn't be here to tell you how ridiculous you are and I wouldn't have feelings about it.
"Many people want a child and can't have their own!" Well bully for them. There are lots of children that need homes, those folks who want children should go do something about that. Hopefully it also helps to calm down their raging moral superiority stiffy.
"I'm a woman and I would never have an abortion!" That's totally okay and I 100% support you in that decision. It is okay to say, "I would never have an abortion no matter what." It is NOT okay to say, "Other people aren't allowed to have abortions."
"Your mother would be so ashamed to find out you're okay with abortion!" Uhm...1. That's not an argument against abortion. 2. I live with my mum. We talk every day. She reads everything I write. She agrees with everything I say. I learned a lot of it from her. She's super proud.

"A baby is a separate person and their rights are important, too!" 1. A fetus isn't a baby, yet. 2. The current status of a person's body does not affect their basic human rights. Pregnancy is included. Pregnant people are entitled to bodily autonomy, a basic human right.
"What about the personhood of the baby/fetus?" The question of personhood of a fetus is 100% irrelevant after acknowledging the personhood of pregnant people.
"Women are supposed to have babies!" Women are not factories and you may not force them to produce anything they don't want to. #AbortionIsAWomansRight #ReproductiveRights
"Look at this sign with a gross picture!" Oh yeah? Where are the signs showing a child with daddy-grampa while the mum cries at home 'cause her father's a rapist and she had her basic human rights violated multiple times and while being told she deserved it? #AlabamaAbortionBill

If a pregnant person says they don't want to be pregnant anymore, their reasons are not anyone else's business. It doesn't matter why they need an abortion, they get to have one.

"Abortion isn't birth control!" Okay, so hear me out. If a pregnant person doesn't want to be pregnant anymore, they often need an abortion. You can call their need whatever you like, they're still entitled to have an abortion.
"Abortion is murder!" 1. No it's not. A fetus isn't yet a person. 2. Even if it was (which it isn't) a pregnant person still has the right to end their pregnancy. 3. Refusing an abortion is violating the basic human rights of the pregnant person.
