for whomever needs to read this: it's a tough situation when your heart is broken up into pieces because you've experienced betrayal, abuse or been taken for granted or advantage of. so tough that you may tell yourself that you'll never open up your heart, love or trust again.
in the midst of the pain, it's important to acknowledge it, sit with it and hold it up to the light. don't deny it. don't deny your anger either. don't invent false positivity. the facts are: both the pain & anger may be there for some time.
know that you're here to engage in self-creation. you're here to determine who & how you will love and under what conditions. so, don't ever allow what another person did that was harmful in the past to "create" the future YOU. i know you want to live proactively, not reactively.
understand that loving & trusting again after tremendous heartbreak is an indicator of strength, not weakness. there's a difference between opening your heart up to the best possibilities & being naive and indiscriminate. if you've been honest w/yourself, you're NOT the latter.
don't hold the best parts of yourself back & cheat the world b/c someone didn't know how to work w/ all that you are. maybe someone tried to put you in a box & only view you through a reductive lens. or, someone may have been envious of you & it jump-started their insecurities.
someone may have felt threatened b/c they got a glimpse of everything that you could be & that highlighted their own unrealized potential so they sought to squelch your self-expression. whatever the case is, don't shortchange yourself by denying yourself the opportunity to love.
for those feeling like they want to call it quits. it's understandable. however, the world needs your gift. it needs your love & the joy that's brought forth as a result.
someone is out there that will handle that gift responsibly & faithfully. i hope your self-trust as well as your trust of others returns. what other people attempt to do to u doesn't define u. i hope you get back to your most energetic, vibrant, intelligent, open & loving self.
the work that you came to do on this earth is far greater than what anyone's dishonesty, manipulation, abuse, or unfairness can hold. and YOU are much greater. always carry that thought with you moving forward. Ase.
