Interesting: I believe the policeman Brian Francois mentioned in the @InquiryCSA Westminster document who was running Operation Hatton (the Met's investigation into PIE) is the older brother of Mark Francois, the man with the red face and the missing cedilla.

He was referred to in IICSA OHY005576.pdf as Brain Franc#### (sic), Brain Francware (sic) and DS Brian France#### (sic).
He is said to have retired in late 1997.
He is the secretary of the Friends of the Metropolitan Police Historical Collection.

Brian was born to Reginald Francois and Ivy Francois nee Davis, latterly Tinkler in 1948.
He shows up in Company House records under Brian D Francois Toastmaster Limited.
His address linked to that record was given as 7 Glengall Road, Bexleyheath, Kent, DA7 4AL.

That @InquiryCSA document makes for interesting reading. I would urge you to call it up and read GB's account of intimidation of an investigating police officer.

Harrison was a religious man and had read the lesson at St. Paul's church on the Sunday before his murder. Rector at the time was Father Diamond, ostensibly a well-liked cleric who breathed life into a run-down Deptford.
But there was a sinister side ...

Two events during Fr. Diamond's tenure at St. Paul's rocked his parish. One was the New Cross fire mention by Diamond in the video below and a subject to which I will return later.
The other was the murder of Ron Harrison.

Diamond must have been close to both Ron Harrison, an active lay member of his congregation, and the two convicted of his murder, and he had an intimate knowledge of the scene as he often sat in on police interviews. Diamond and Harrison also shared a love of the bottle.

Diamond's links to the 'dark side' are exemplified by his close ties to the gangster Charlie Richardson, a criminal rival to the Krays, who even donated the Ford Escort Diamond drove around in and took young people to the coast in.
