almost 10 years ago wowaka slammed into the vocaloid scene and, like many of the most popular producers, changed the game completely
he had a fresh and unique sound, his songs were instantly recognizable not only from the thumbnails and the tuning, but also everything he put into them
he released hit after hit and made some of the most iconic songs in vocaloid history
eventually, he had to distance himself from the scene because he felt like people couldn't really see *him*, the person behind the voicebank
people started trying to mimic his style to get popular and he went through some really difficult times
he started focusing 100% on hitorie, his band, and people would often wonder if he'd ever return to vocaloid
in an interview he did during the miku 10th celebrations he talked about how secretly he felt like he'd like to try making music with miku again, but it wasn't until he was approached to make a new song for the 10th anniv that he seriously got to the task
he made unknown mother goose, a song where he bares himself and all of his complicated feelings regarding his vocaloid career
it's a bittersweet song where he talks about his struggles and the unpleasant things he had to face, but it's also a song that talks about his "love"
i cannot and would not speak for him, obviously, but i always got the feeling that this was a song where he was able to make his peace with miku, a song about coming home again and reconciling with something you left behind because it was too painful
i, sadly, have never been able to see it played live, but all the live performances of it i've seen are so chilling

miku's motion data for it, the way she smiles sweetly as she sings of wowaka's love, the people singing along in the "oooh oooh" parts

he didn't make more vocaloid songs after this, but it felt like this had been healing for him -- from the song and the way he was able to talk about it
at the same time, hitorie's popularity started growing -- they recently got to make an ED song for boruto, even
even though it felt like part of his career had finally reached a conclusion, the rest of his career, the one where many people knew him for his own face and voice was only starting to pick up seriously, and that's part of why this is so heartbreaking
he was so young, he had so much to do still, so many songs to make, so many experiences to live... it's so sad
i've been looping this song constantly since it came out and that was, what? two months ago?hitorie had just released a new album
obviously this isn't a matter of what's fair or not, life doesn't work like that, but it still hurts a lot and selfishly i am really sad that we won't get to listen to any more new songs from him
i don't even know where i'm going with this, i just wanted to talk about wowaka because he was--still is one of my favorite producers and this is still so unreal to me
thank you so much for all the music you shared with us, wowaka. thank you for putting up with all the difficult things this community threw at you and for being able ot make the best out of it, regardless.
thank you for working so hard, thank you for opening up and letting us see a small part of what you were going through, and thank you for giving vocaloid a second chance even after all of that.
i hope you're resting peacefully now, thank you so much for everything.
just coming back here to say, if you never kept up with wowaka after he left the vocaloid scene, please give hitorie a chance, they were really amazing and a lot of their discography is available both on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/hitorieJP/playlists?disable_polymer=1

and spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0ouUO7PZ76vjBJytaT2Na0
wowaka also made a few songs with LiSA, if you want to look them up:

- EGOiSTiC SHOOTER
- ヒトリワラッテ
- 覚醒屋
