The most interesting development recently in TN political landscape is the holy cow of TN politics -- srilankan Tamil issue--is no longer regarded as the "holy cow". DMK IT cell freely abuse the lankan Tamil diaspora who poke their noses in Indian affairs. And rightly so.

This, in my view, is a welcome development. In the recent years, the meddling ways of sri lankan Tamil groups in TN/Indian affairs became too much. I mean, it's like those ethnic fascists want to rewrite their failed history by plunging TN/India into civil war.

It's an open secret that they fund the ultra fascist rabble rousers like Seeman, et al. But another aspect which doesn't get enough attention is the lankan Tamil groups are (likely) the source of the fascist propaganda materiel which gets circulated in TN. I'll give an example.

During Jallikattu protests in Jan 2017 (when their meddling ways were on steroids and it got worse since), I came across the image below. This was the meme that got widely circulated. I did some "research",which means googling from the comfort of my computer.

The meme itself was shared numerous times, and I found information from it repeated in internet comments.
I started with Google Image search and only found the image in a blog dated Jan 30, 2017.

Then I searched facebook and found the image shared numerous times. I also found it shared in Twitter. In both of these I searched not with the image itself, but with the text from it - "the real culprits behind Jallikattu ban".

After looking at the dates of different posts, I finally found the EARLIEST occurence to be the page named "தமிழ் பகுத்தறிவாளர்கள்/Tamil rationalists". Link is: https://www.facebook.com/itamilrationalists/posts/1301422209919123

The page links to a website called "Left Out Voices" which is mostly related to Sri Lanka. I could not find if they are actually based abroad. Research on Islamophobic material in the US found that a large amount of propaganda comes from just 6 sources.

It is possible the anti-Brahmin, fascist memes that trend in TN come from a similarly small number of sources. just take a cursory glance at @/mrpaluvets TL, a Lankan refugee, you would understand where I am coming from. His obsession with TN/Indian affairs is off the charts.

They are also the source of anti-DMK/Karunanidhi materials that abound social media. It's only natural that DMK reacts this way. I welcome this. Until 2016, DMK was sort of guilt tripped into not reacting but now they proactively show these diaspora fascist scums their place.

There is a section of BJP supporters who think they can reap benefits out of this "because why not it's MuKa , he deserves it" .No this is not the right strategy. This is a self defeating strategy for BJP supporters. (This is my not so subtle sly tweet on @SuryahSG ).

now the srilankan issue has died a slow death. TN people don't care anymore. In fact, they never did. Even if you are to dig up the bodies and parade them in TN, it won't give you any mileage. The two images below sum up my whole thread. the mood in 2009 and in 2019
