For all of you "tol bois with smol girls" writers

Just to keep things in perspective, here are some visual reference for when you're picking a size difference

I'm 5'2
The guys in these pics are 7'0, 6'8, 6'5, and 6'3

So whenever you write an interaction, be it a hug, kiss, stab, hand-hold, or literally any physical interaction . . .

Keep this in mind

Just standing on your tiptoes isn't going to make as much of a difference as you think

And don't think you can rely on heels
This is 5'2 me in HEELS next to 7'0 and 6'8

(True story, I went up to a 6'4 guy and took a pic with him just so I could see how my arm would need to be positioned to stab him)

As I said, keep it in mind
My smol girl has to take 3 steps to her tol friend's every 1 step
He has to crouch or kneel if he wants to talk face to face
He can block a whole doorway
She has to tip her head all the way back or stand farther back if she wants to read his expression

And that goes for fighting too
You'll hold a blade differently -- and strike differently and stab differently -- depending on the height difference
Also, it's pretty hard to punch someone in the face if your arm barely reaches up to their face

Side note

I was interviewing 7-foot dude after a match and asked what his assessment of the other team was

He was like, "YEAH, I mean, it's definitely hard to stop that tall Italian kid when he gets on a roll"

Said "tall Italian kid" was 4 inches shorter than him

(P.S. in case you don't know me or are new here, I am one of these authors -- none of my female love interests are over 5'4, and none of my male characters period are under 6'2. I am a proud member of this tol boi club)

I swear volleyball has ruined me forever. A guy tells me they're 6'2 and I just look at him like OHHHH you're one of the short ones sorry bb

My standard for tall has gone up half a foot just in the last two years

In fact, I had to rewrite a lot of interactions after I started hanging out with vball players. I had no sense of perspective on just how tall anyone over 6'2-6'3 was

And, of course, CharmingBiAzula (Aemilia) is 6'0

NGL, I love the image of 5'2 KataraGirl (Katrin) trying to shield CharmingBiAzula and then realizing the dude can totally still see her over KataraGirl's head

Another thing to keep in mind is that taller people often have much longer legs than torsos

This is me sitting next to 7'0 and right below (bleachers) two 6'3 guys

Yes, 7'0 is slouching a little, but there's still MUCH less of a height difference compared to us standing up

And do I even need to mention foot size differences?

(that's not even with our heels even -- mine is a little farther forward than 7'0's heel)
