WVU at the Phog vs Kansas and the @Big12Refs tomorrow at 4. Weird stuff always seems to happen there.
Let’s take a look back, shall we?

2015: WVU jumps out to a 28-15 lead. 7 mins to go 1st half. Kansas needs any momentum. Frank Mason drives and has his layup rejected Brandon Watkins. Official sprints from 30 feet to give Brandon a technical for...well...I don’t know exactly...looking??

Now rewatch that gif, but now watch how Tarik is flying off screen at the beginning of it. How in the name of Isaac Newton is he moving like that, you ask? Well, Frank Mason %#$&ing trucked him with a LaDainian Tomlinson stiff arm

WVU still has an 8 pt lead with 1:55 in the game and Kansas has missed their last four attempts from the field. Dax Miles is called for OVER THE BACK sending Brannen Greene to the FT line

That would start a 10-2 run for Kansas to end regulation (WVU would miss some crucial free throws). Kansas wins in overtime

Fast forward to 2017. The collapse. Kansas gives Press Virginia a taste of their own medicine to come back from a 14 point deficit in the final 3 mins to tie it up and win (again) in overtime. Costly turnovers and missed FTs (again) doomed WVU, BUT let’s look at a crucial play

That’s not legal. How did the official miss that, you ask? Well...

2018. The 35-2 game. Look, I don’t want to hear that WVU fouls on every play and they only jack up 3s. They shot only 4 more 3s than Kansas and shot 10 more 2s!! One person in this gif got fined after the game, and it wasn’t John Higgins.

To summarize, WVU lost every one of those games and squandered many chances. However, time and time again Kansas gets multiple breaks, seemingly because of only the jersey. They’re great already, stop helping them, @Big12Refs. And stop being intimidated by the venue

In the past 8.5 seasons in conference play 51 of Kansas’s opponents have fouled out at the Phog. Only 9 Kansas players have fouled out in that same time (and FOUR of those were in games that went to OT, FWIW)

While you’re here, let me remind you that Bill Self has an assistant coach on staff who was recorded by the FBI saying “we’re gonna have to do it some way” when being told a recruit needed cash and family housing to come to Kansas.

Also, in last year’s Big 12 conference championship, a player that has since been found to be ineligible played 26 minutes and scored 16 points in an 11 pt win over WVU
