Ok so I wanted to hang with her a bit before picking a name. Mulling over four:

- Isabel (Izzy for short I guess)

- Ophelia (which sounds badass in Spanish)

- Eva (also the name of the woman who brought her to us)

- Yuya (short for Jayuya, PR where my fav coffee is grown)

I almost named her Ingrid but if my mom knew I named a cat after her she'd kill me.

UPDATE: she's really into smushing her face against a box under the blankets

Lol my mom says Ofelia was the name of a witch in her neighborhood growing up. I think she's trying to dissuade me but it makes me like the name more.

Made a makeshift playpen for our first couple of weeks together.

A BREAKTHROUGH: She has grabbed my finger and kept snatching at it when I tried to pull away.

She decided to get adventurous last night. I got about 4 hours of sleep.

But she ate and peed and pooped and I have never been more relieved to watch a living creature drop a turd in my room.

SHE POOPED! I thought she had last night but no dice. This is her looking scandalized watching me dig up the turds she worked so hard to bury.

She kept us up all night with this so I finally gave her the attention she wants and posted it on Twitter.

Some updates:
- She really likes fleece blankets.
- She's eating a lot more now!
- She licked my nose this morning and gnaws on my fingers sometimes.

She's coming out to the living room more often to play.

She's also a big fan of this tiny mouse thing.

Got Yuyu a new toy.

I respect and appreciate my daughter's skepticism.

Moving it out to the living room soon but you know I'm a helicopter dad.

She started sleeping on my clothes so I caved, took everything off but an old sweater and threw a towel over it.

Also she's getting so biiiig.

We're staying in tonight.

She's getting real big.

Her squeak is starting to resemble a meow. I'm melting.

YUYU HAS A COLD! Took her to the vet this morning for the first time.

No pics because I had my hands full but I did snag a shot of the fecal sample container with her full name on it. ;)

She yelled at me for going outside without a big enough coat.

My daughter excels at finding her light.

The vet called my cat "petite" today.

Good morning! I no longer set alarms I just wait for this queen to smush my face.

She follows me everywhere and it's adorable but I almost stepped on her this morning.

"No pictures, please."

Stayed in and made dinner for my cat.

I swear my cat just rolled her eyes at me.

Good morning!

Had bronchitis over the weekend which meant taking pictures of my cat instead of socializing.

Look at her SMOLDER.

Left my child with @embrace_mess (who I am convinced will be an exceptional cat parent someday) for a few days and she's taken up residence in the bathroom.
