As to where he lived, that’s pretty easily searchable/verifiable, and I’ll leave that to you. And as for seeing when he started to receive coverage, what I did was a search using the dates 2008 - 2015, and then sorted by date.
If you do that yourself, you’ll be able to see that he went from relatively little to no coverage to being everywhere starting around 2011-2012.
Strangely enough, he burst onto the scene with his involvement with Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Rightwing News also shares ad tags with URLs that hit just about every note in active measures and dividing Americans. They were targeting: blacks, moms, religious, women, white supremacists, gamers, and on and on.
