NGT committee finds no proof on air, water and soil pollution with respect to Sterlite operation.

No proof on health issues as alleged by fake environmentalists.

It found certain procedural issues of common in nature.

As usual fake environmentalists started confusing people
Allegation1: Sterlite had not submitted the ground water report to TNPCB

Fact: TNPCB themselves take monthly water samples, analyze in their lab and submit the report to Sterlite.

Submitting the report to TNPCB is a only a formality as the report is already available with them
Allegation2: Land filling with slag

Committee finds copper slag is non-hazardous, non-leachable, not affect the ground water quality and non-toxic to human beings. This can be used for land filling. It only recommended to remove the excess copper slag above the ground level.
Allegation3:
Non renewal of hazardous waste authorization.
Though Sterlite applied for renewal, TNPCB kept pending for long time for frivolous reasons. CTO was issued. The fact that several companies in TN is in the same situation as on today. No one was asked to closed by TNPCB.
Allegation4 : Low stack height.

The committee finds that it is a moot point to be considered and to be decided by the NGT.

The committee not concluded anything on this subject. The committee is of the opinion that the two sulphuric acid plants to be considered as one.
Allegation5: Less green belt.

Green belt issue was settled in Supreme Court and attained finality on 02.04.2013. Committee had not taken into account the post 2011 green belt development as directed by Supreme Court and concluded based on NEERI 2011 report.
Some foreign funded fake environmentalists have started confusing the people based the committee findings which are only procedural issues and not related to any pollution.

The committee finds the closure is against natural justice and allowed to be reopened with conditions.
