Not that you need ANOTHER opinion on the matter, but here it is anyway...
Love you all
Love you all

1. I think we ought to draw a distinction between Bryan's and Hugh's OWN creative vision and the fact that they wholeheartedly support any version of Hannigram that fans create in their own imaginative spaces, be that as romantic, platonic, or explicitely sexual.
2. The fact that they embrace fan creations of any kind should not be taken to automatically mean that they want to embrace any particular version of that for THEIR vision of the story, nor should it.
3. What I personally want to see, is what Bryan wants to do - HIS idea of what he wants the relationship to be. He created the thing because of which we are all here. As someone who calls himself a fan who is writing Hannibal fanfic, he respects how other fans rework his text...
4. This fundamental respect for the creative autononmy of fans should equally be applied to him. I don't understand how anyone would want to prescibe to Bryan what he should or should not do with those characters.
5. I want to address what I sometimes sense to be a sort of aggressive vibe in the discussion when people use phrases like "He better not say x or..." / "He better do this or..." / "I can't believe there are STILL people who can think it's platonic..." etc.
6. Bryan and Hugh have at occasions in the past and in interviews said that in THEIR version of the fanfic, variations of which WE are all collectively writing, they initially conceived of it as platonic, whether with a capital P for Plato's Symposium or the 'modern' meaning.
7. Bryan called it LOVE several times. He also said somewhere that he was not primarily interested in showing a sexual relationship but that nearly everything in the show can be construed as a metaphor for sex. He also said that over time, the show subverted his own design...
8. ...Hannigram evolved. Nobody is taking romantic or explicitely sexual Hannigram away from creators or shippers, and honestly can't fathom why some in the majority still feel the need to tell other fans they are not allowed to see as it as love - the platonic variant.
9. I love explicit Hannigram fanart/fic but I don't dare speculate, much less wish to prescribe what S4 will look like:
I want Bryan to have the creative freedom to do what HE wants to do with HIS version of this fanfiction. If that includes a kiss or sex I'm fine with that...
I want Bryan to have the creative freedom to do what HE wants to do with HIS version of this fanfiction. If that includes a kiss or sex I'm fine with that...
10. ...If it doesn't, however, I won't have the audacity to attack him with the term "queerbait". I dare say that those who already threaten a shitstorm if it doesn't go "their way", have chosen to listen very selectively to what Bryan & Hugh have been saying over the years...
11. Equally perplexing, this also devalues their own creations of fanish Season 4, which is being made every day, by implicitely assuming that theirs is of lesser worth or lesser truth if Bryan doesn't make it canon. I think that could not be farther from Bryan Fuller's thinking.
12. We should keep creating the versions of Hannigram we prefer - romantic, platonic, sexual, bottom, top, switch whatever. The beauty of this fandom is that we have the blessing&support of showrunner, cast, crew to do so. Extend the same courtesy to them, and your fellow fans.
