In late Nov 1922, Erskine was executed by a firing party, just behind @GeolSurvIE , near a wall of a bldg that still stands today. No placemarker, no plaque marks the spot. Shortly afterwards, the @foreignoffice in London was asked for an official comment on his death.
At @dfarchives in the Maps section, you will find a map of the ground plan of Beggars Bush Barracks circa 1911. At the bottom right of that map, you will see a building called the bar/canteen, then “ mini rifle range” and “shed”. http://mpdsearch.militaryarchives.ie/masters/fsdocumentsx?q=827&fsdocument=1&test=1
In Risteard Mulcahy’s book on his father, Erskine’s execution is discussed in detail; down to the shed and rifle range specifically. These are the present day photo’s of the bldg.
