I think a reason so many women are reacting so strongly to the debate around whether or not men get to claim to be women on their say-so, is that so many if us have been abused, belittled, and dismissed by men in so many ways throughout our entire life, that this feels like 1/
the final nail in the coffin. We see powerful lobbying groups like Stonewall, organisations tike Womens Aid (originally set up by and for women), political parties, every mechanism of the State from the police to the NHS, and entire Governments colluding in coercive control 3/
of women by whatever means necessary to force us to deny our reality. To rob us of the very language and definition of *who we are*. It is experienced on a physical level. It is gut-wrenching. Our bodies remember every time we have felt a blow, or been humiliated, or shamed 4/
or afraid for our lives. Every time we have been forced to walk on eggshells around a man we fear. Everytime our opinion has been laughed at or dismissed or outright ignored. There is a visceral pain deep in our gut. I feel it. And I also feel a powerful rage at the sheer 5/
dehuminising insult of it all. A rage on my own behalf, and every female born human being past, present or future. I cannot and *will* not give up this struggle that has existed in one form or another against the brutal oppression of women since forever. HOW FUCKING DARE YOU. 6/
How FUCKING dare you make me and any woman defend the very definition of who we are. How fucking dare you make us spend hours and days and months and years of our lives having to think of ways and arguments to convince *anyone*, let alone the institutions that are meant to 7/
protect us and uphold our human rights that we are entitled to those rights. How fucking dare you demand *under threat of social, legal, or economic consequence* that we believe an absolute LIE. Not just tolerate, but absolutely believe it . You WILL NOT indoctrinate 8/
us into your cult. You WILL NOT bend us to your will. NEVER. You may harass and abuse and threaten and cut us out of every democratic process with your lies and your entitlement and your self-serving collusion, but you will NEVER have our consent. You will NEVER 9/
force us to believe your lies. We will NEVER believe that 2+2=5. And we will NEVER believe that a man is or ever will be in any shape or form a woman. No. You have taken everything from us. YOU ARE NOT GETTING THAT. Like every woman or girl who has been bloodied or bruised 10/
or made fearful by a man (and that's most of us, believe me) our fear and our pain is underscored by a simmering RAGE at your entitlement to everything and anything that is ours. That rage will keep us alive. And like survivors of a battle we will find each other. We will 11/
continue to talk to each other out of your earshot. We will embolden each other. You will face women's FURY like you have never known. Even if it takes years, decades, even a hundred years. We won't forget what you have done to us. 12/
For we are the great great great grandaughters of the witches you did not burn. As our daughters and their daughters and their daughters will be. This is just one battle in a long, long war. End.
