the first reveal that marceline & bubblegum used to be friends - or more so. you don’t sing like this about someone you have strictly platonic feelings for!! i mean the door responds to authenticity and it was at its peak when marceline confessed to wanting to make amends with pb
the door lord took each person’s treasures. bubblegum is loaded, she’s a princess - yet her most valuable possession is….an old t-shirt. that marceline gave her. Yea
we see a truth in princess bubblegum’s words that she wears marceline’s shirt as pajamas. naturally, she forgot to mention that she also deeply inhales it as if her olfactory senses hadn’t been stimulated in years. also: a photo of her & her supposed enemy in her closet
do you realise the absolute GRAVITY of maja’s statement? hambo is the only remaining relic of marcy's past…the only thing left of her time with SIMON, one of the most important ppl in her life…it’s been w her for 1000+ years…yet STILL its sentiment doesn’t compare to the Shirt
i'd put the entirety of varmints here if i could. we get further insights into the past nature of their relationship and can we just…appreciate the fondness in marceline’s voice as she recounts their memories. also: peep bonnie’s blush

this scene is so saturated!!! the dream sequence reveals that one of marceline’s fears concerning her newfound mortality is growing old and passing on without bubblegum. pb is also shown to be wearing a hanbok, traditionally worn a wedding dress in korea. and that last part...Gay
throwback to varmints when pb said she’s ‘trying to be less mean'. also yes, marceline, it is love
who else takes their Completely Platonic Friend to meet your beloved father figure over dinner and grasps their hand as you tell them it would mean a lot if you got along haha :) also…the random intonation on the word “girlfriend”? it simply could not have been unintentional
some trivia: hanna k, who storyboarded the bubbline kiss, also worked on this episode. so i can say with confidence that changing the shot to include bubblegum at the mention of a significant other was in fact intentional. also peep bonnie’s small smile at marceline’s response
honestly......this breaks me. marceline's story reveals that she was prepared to let the curse overcome her as long as it meant she could stay by pb's side. clearly these are some pretty heavy feelings that she has yet to come to terms with, hence the unusual ending to her story
you guys… YOU GUYS. to this day this little moment of hand holding STILL has my stomach flipping because it was the first time i was irrefutably CERTAIN that the writers were deliberately hinting towards bubbline being a Thing. it filled me with so much hope
when hunson asks if marceline's dating anyone, finn’s response is “maybe?!”. there’s absolutely no one.......AT ALL…....that he could've been referring to other than princess bubblegum. that’s not up for debate. this was just further consolidation for me after their hand holding
why does marceline's sweater seem so familiar? ya das right. it's princess bubblegum's. can you even begin to imagine how safe marceline feels in that sweater after being engulfed in it while in pb's arms the entire time she was in her poison coma.....my heart is weak
finally, there is of course no greater indication that marceline and princess bubblegum are together.....than this. it was truly a long, thrilling yet completely rewarding 7 year wait
