Everyone was broadly ok with our relationship with the EU. Until it said it was going to crack down on rich people's tax-fiddles.
Funny, that. Not "funny ha ha" though.
The rich responded with a plan - stir up anti-EU sentiment. And the tools they chose were racism, xenophobia and nationalism.
The plan relies on 2 things: Everyone having a vote; lots of voters not having the brains they were born with.

The rich couldn't say "we want out as the EU will make us less rich" - voters wouldn't fall for that - as in the main they're not rich.
So they made it about stuff that voters WOULD fall for - "Bananas, Brussels & Black People".
Tub-thumping, racism, & xenophobia. Bingo!

This is a 'personal best' for one of my tweets, but sadly shows what a poor 'reach' efforts on Twitter might have...as a proportion of the 48m people with a vote I'm getting to 0.0094% of 'em at best...
is getting on for 500k impressions now...
That's more than the number of people left who *still* think #Brexit is a good idea!
(Though many of those think it's the new name for Marathon).

Well it just clicked over 500k impressions, whatever that means. Probably nothing. Or that most of 500k people ignored it...
It's over 650k now...
A key question: Would Johnson achieving a revised version of May's WA mean that the UK was committed to all future #EU tax-dodging / off-shoring rules?
If so, the #ERG & other tax-dodgers won't vote for it, IMO.

More & more people are starting to realise how & why the #Brexit con was born
As a public service, I'm going to read Rees-Mogg's dad's book "The Sovereign Individual".
I'll write a (post-Enlightenment) precis afterwards, assuming I survive.
The basis of Thatcher's "no such thing as society"?

Sorry I'm being a bit slow (not normally a slow reader, but I'm making notes, see )
Such a terrible plot...

After tax-dodging their next big issue is libertarian-right "deregulation" - that "red tape" that puts "POISON" labels on bottles of...poison.
Regulation is a REAL profit-killer; reduces dividend-payments & share-values!

A pretty good precis (beat me to it!). About as anti-democratic as can be & aligns perfectly with the #Tory "there *should* be winners & losers in human life" & "no such thing as society" mind-set.
#Scummery #TaxDodging in action.
