time to distract ourselves with long-ago forums drama screemshots, lads. a few days ago i started reading one of the infamous phenazepam threads on TCC (The Crackhead Clubhouse), a subforum of Something Awful dedicated to drugs. this is a very weird thread but i'll do my best
in 2009, phenazepam was a legal benzodiazepine. you could buy it on ebay or from various research chemical sites with little fear of scams or legal trouble. phenazepam was a soviet drug developed in 1975. i think its still legal in some states but check this out lol:
alright enough preamble. the TCC thread starts out relatively slowly as various posters order phenazepam, which forums user dethkon (aka SOME PIG) nicknamed Da Joose, a name which stuck instantly because every TCC poster long ago smoked themselves dumbshit
once everyone's orders from ebay or the preferred chem site start to arrive, the comedy begins
while da joose is technically possible to enjoy responsibly, it is rapidly apparent that the combination of the drug being cheap, potent in low doses + the fact that 99% of TCC posters dont bother buying a decent gram scale, has created a perfect storm of "approximate" dosing

Cascading Style Sheet is the first major casualty, paving the way for what becomes a familiar path: dose, dose doesnt kick in, redose, shit i took too much, blackout, and then redosing during the blackout. its not good

i wont post the screenshots because theyre very tragic family stuff, but the poor kid was found dead in a park way out in a part of town near where Greyhound was making him go to get his bike, which theyd been jerking him around about for a while apparently. horrible
i guess he was a recovering heroin addict as well. pretty awful tragedy made worse by the nonzero number of TCC posters saying "goondolences" in the announcement thread

youll note that "Zina" was concerned at the time that the stories would get out into the general public. i considered this while writing this stuff up, but the joose thread is from 2009, and i believe this amount of time has been plenty to assure no one is going to get in trouble
