Terra nullius is the philosophy used to justify the theft of the New World. Age of Exploration personnel were prepped with the idea that lands they’d find would be up for grabs.

Everything Bataluk says is terra nullius, meant to denigrate non-white cultures and laud colonialism, as in

The TRC identified the ongoing harm of terra nullius too. #TRC47 calls on govt to repudiate it, and reform laws based on it.

Terra nullius tells us that some people deserve to be subjugated. Not just in the past, but NOW. It still works.

Know terra nullius when you see it. Know that it’s racism and it can’t be justified with historical citations, and it can’t be tolerated, here or anywhere.
