I come from a restauranting family. My dad owned bars and restaurants from when I was about 10 years old. So understand that I’ve worked in every possible position in a restaurant, and also I understand, let’s say, the traditional customs of food and beverage businesses. 1/2
The idea that you would fire someone from a fast food restaurant because they’ve been in porn is the most patently ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard in my life. The Food and Beverage industry is something of a professional refuge for people who don’t fit neatly into OFFICELAND.
My dad had a white tablecloth place in Savannah, and one night the cops came in and told my dad (who they knew) that they had a warrant for the arrest of his chef.

And my dad was like, “Look, can you just wait till the end of his shift? I promise he’ll turn himself in.”
AND! the cops were like “all right but make sure he comes.” Because: Georgia! So they left. And - at the end of the shift - my dad persuaded his chef turning himself in really would be the best idea, and then my dad took him to the station and then waited and bailed him back out.
And I tell this story because this kind of shit happens in food service ALL THE TIME. FS is kind of like the state of Alaska: a lot of people who move TO Alaska have - a deep and rich set of past personal experiences. It’s just understood, and you don’t ask TOO many questions.
A fast food worker who’s done some porn is about as shocking to someone in the food and beverage industry as them having smoked a joint.
Coda: “Dad, Dad - what was the warrant FOR?”
“Oh - some fight got outta hand. Guy punched him and he got mad, so he stole the other fella’s truck and tried to run over a bunch of his steers with it. Went in the ditch though.”
“Oh, just Saturday night stuff?”
“Yup basically.”
