I get the question, why is Richard Mille so expensive?
Well here is a short thread.

1- the barrel shaped case is has 3 decks. front, back, & center decks. no flat surface so making it because extremely difficult. Also fitted within 100th of a mm!!!
2-materials used are found in F1 cars, Race Yachts, and Aerospace.
Carbon nanotubes, toughened ceramic, NTPT carbon (originally developed for the sails of racing yachts), silicon nitride, gold fused with carbon and quartz, perfluoroelastomer to name a few.
3-Polishing complex curved stones to mould into the shape of their watch cases using ultrasound in a pot of viscous diamond-particle filled mud, where the effects of polishing cannot be measured.
Movements made from Titanium and precious stones. The research alone requires years to be completed. Some movements are purely from semi-precious stones.
Truly from the future.
Richard Mille watches are the most expensive racing machines for the wrist. Just like a Formula 1 car, they are far more than the sum of their parts, elevating timekeeping to the highest form of technical art
