Starting to see fans get "excited" by the prospect of the football we'll play under Corberan & that PH is doing the right thing by bringing in a someone different to implement the "model" he wants.

Here's my thoughts on why I think this "model" is the wrong way to go...

#htafc
(1/12) The more I think about it the more PH seems to be acting like the kind of foreign owner DH refused to sell to.
PH has sacrificed proven results men in preference for a "style of play".
It also means his "transfer committee" can have say over which players to sign.
(2/12) There seems to be a thought process around the club that if we have a head coach instead of a manager & use a transfer committee, we'll repeat the Wagner success. This logic is completely flawed because Wagner chose the players that got us promoted, not a TC.
(3/12) The TC signed Diakhaby, Mbenza, Kongolo, Sobhi, Hamer, Durm, Puncheon, Bockhorn, Koroma, Reece Brown etc. We all know how that went!

So to PH's credit he let the Cowley's, with a proven track record in the transfer market, sign the players in January. They kept us up.
(4/12) So, to recap, Wagner's signings in 2016 produced a miracle and the Cowley's signings in 2020 made history by being the first team every to stay up after just 1 point from the first 9 games.

Yet the TC spent tens of millions and achieved nothing but failure.
(5/12) It's utterly illogical to go back to something that failed, when we've twice proven what works!

Let's also not pretend the football under Wagner was free-flowing & exciting all the time. We battled to 22 wins by 1 goal & a negative goal difference to achieve promotion.
(6/12) This whole wanting an attractive style of play is, in my opinion, what is ruining the chances of so many clubs these days. We're fed this narrative that to be successful we have to play like City or Liverpool and it's simply not true.
(7/12) Take Everton & West Ham as examples. They've spent hundreds of millions on players to try & compete with the top 6 and both have wanted to see a certain "style" on the pitch. Yet they consistently achieve nothing. The top 6 have better players so naturally do it better...
(8/12) ...and others around them have more fight so get results against them anyway. They're in a vicious cycle of wanting something fancy, then consistently having to revert back to results men to save them. And yet they never give the results men a proper chance. It's madness!
(9/12) Sheff Utd & Burnley are the prime examples of clubs like us in WORKING CLASS areas that are over achieving just like we're aiming to. The Cowley's wanted to follow their lead, but somehow PH must think we're better than that. It makes absolutely no sense to me.
(10/12) It's almost like PH is desperate to try and pioneer something like DH did & that desperation to emulate DH is making him lose sight of what has actually happened in the last 2 years.

PH has openly said he wants us to be a top 30 club. We had a real chance of that...
(11/12) ...with the Cowley's and I can't help but feel like we've thrown away our best chance of achieving that since we sold Marcus Stewart in 2000.

It's a massive gamble to take. Certainly one we didn't need to take and what's more it has likely cost us over a million already.
(12/12) In summary, I believe PH has chosen style over results & my gut feeling is he's going to have to go back, with his tail between his legs, to a results man in order to save us once again.

Best of luck PH, I really hope I'm wrong. #htafc
Fans shouldn't take this as me not backing CC. I'll back any manager, but I still fundamentally disagree with DCs sacking, from the way it was done to the decision itself. IMO PH should be held to account & we shouldn't be silenced for questioning him & having an opinion #htafc
